Vermilion, Pt. 2
"Vermilion" is the second single from American heavy metal band Slipknot's third album, '' Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)''. When the band plays the song live, they switch from their ordinary masks to "death masks"; each an actual cast of each member's face. However, during the All Hope Is Gone tour, only Craig and Paul wore their death masks for the song. "Vermilion" features on the soundtrack for the 2004 film, '' Resident Evil: Apocalypse'' and plays during the end credits. "Vermilion Pt. 2" is a continuation of the first part. Background "Vermilion Pt. 2" "Vermilion Pt. 2" is the continuation of the story in Part 1. It features two acoustic guitars, a cello, a piano and Corey Taylor's baritone-styled vocals. Slipknot (band)
Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. Steele left during the recording sessions for '' .5: The Gray Chapter''. The band found replacements in Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. After the departure of Jordison, the only founding member in the current lineup is percussionist Crahan. An acoustic guitar is a musical instrument in the string family. When a string is plucked its vibration is transmitted from the bridge, resonating throughout the top of the guitar. It is also transmitted to the side and back of the instrument, resonating through the air in the body, and producing sound from the sound hole. "Before I Forget" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot, released as the third single from the band's third studio album, '' Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)'' (2004). It was cited by AOL as the top metal song of the decade. It also won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2006. "Before I Forget" borrows elements from a much older Slipknot song "Carve", recorded before their self-titled album. The earliest version was in 1996 with Anders Colsefni on vocals. The All Hope Is Gone World Tour was a concert tour by Slipknot that took place in 2008 and 2009 in support of the group's fourth studio album ''All Hope Is Gone''. The tour consisted of nine legs and took place in the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. The tour started with the Mayhem Festival 2008. Lawrence Upton acted as the tour's director, Philippe Vachon acted as the tour's programmer and lighting co-director, and Dave Watson as lighting designer.
