Valerie Perez
Valerie Perez is a fictional character, a DC Comics supporting character and love interest for Bart Allen when Bart was the Flash. Fictional character biography The daughter of one of the enemies of the previous Flashes, Professor Manfred Mota, Valerie's life was saved from a riot at her high school by Bart Allen when he was Kid Flash. After being rescued, Valerie idolized the young hero and, being a scientific genius, devoted her life to studying the Speed Force and, in particular, Bart. After graduating from high school, Valerie worked for Tina McGee as a S.T.A.R. Labs intern at Keystone City and was in charge of working with Bart in sorting out what has changed in the Speed Force, after Bart refused to work with Tina. Managing to earn Bart's trust, the two kissed during a lab test. Near that same time, Valerie's relationship to Mota was discovered by her employers, and despite Tina McGee's efforts, she was fired from her job at S.T.A.R. Labs. A secret identity is a person's alter ego which is not known to the general populace, most often used in fiction. Brought into popular culture by the Scarlet Pimpernel in 1903, the concept was widespread in pulp heroes and is particularly prevalent in the American comic book genre, and is a trope of the masquerade. In American comic books, a character typically has dual identities, one public and one secret. The public identity being known to the general public as the "superhero persona" and the other being the secret identity. The private or secret identity is typically the superhero's legal name, true identity, and/or "civilian persona" when they are not actively assuming the superhero persona. It is kept hidden from their enemies and the general public to protect themselves from legal ramifications, pressure, or public scrutiny, as well as to protect their friends and loved ones from harm secondary to their actions as superheroes. ''Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds'' is a five-issue 2008 limited series produced by DC Comics. The series is a tie-in to '' Final Crisis''. It is scripted by Geoff Johns, and drawn by George Pérez. The story features Superman and the post-''Infinite Crisis'' version of the Legion of Super-Heroes, uniting them with the team's 1994 and 2004 counterparts to battle the Time Trapper and a new incarnation of the Legion of Super-Villains (led by Superboy-Prime). "The Lightning Saga" is a comic book crossover story arc that took place in DC Comics' two flagship team books: ''Justice League of America'' and '' Justice Society of America''. It was written by Brad Meltzer and Geoff Johns, and illustrated by Ed Benes, Dale Eaglesham, and Shane Davis. It is notable for re-introducing the Legion of Super-Heroes in the post-''Infinite Crisis'' era. This crossover would also be the beginning of DC's three year reinvention of the Legion, with the next part occurring in the ''Action Comics'' story " Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" and culminating in '' Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds''. Wallace Rudolph "Wally" West is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics as the original Kid Flash and the third Flash (DC Comics character), Flash. His power consists mainly of speedster (fiction), superhuman speed. The nephew of Iris West, he first appeared in ''Flash'' #110 (1959), which depicted his transformation into Kid Flash. Under the mantle of Kid Flash, Wally was depicted as a teenage sidekick to his uncle-by-marriage, Flash (Barry Allen), Barry Allen, and a founding member of the Teen Titans. After Barry's death in ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'' in 1985, Wally took on the role of the Flash from 1986 to 2009 in DC's main lineup until Barry returned in ''The Flash: Rebirth''.
