Vaazhkai Chakkaram
''Vaazhkai Chakkaram'' () is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Manivannan. The film stars Sathyaraj, Gautami, Goundamani and Vinu Chakravarthy. The film, produced and written by Tirupur Mani, was released on 9 February 1990. Plot Thangavelu is a sub-inspector in his home town which leads to its own set of problems. His father is overly involved in his job. Furthermore, Thangavelu- related to nearly everyone in town — finds it difficult to arrest anyone who breaks the law. His uncle, Saaraya Kadai Kounder, is the village president and deeply involved in many illegal activities including smuggling. Thangavelu arrests his son Periyasamy which fuels a feud between the families. When the local matchmaker shows both Periyasamy and Thangavelu as prospective grooms to Kalyani, she chooses Thangavelu further straining ties between the families. Manivannan
S. Manivannan Rajagopal (31 July 1953 – 15 June 2013), better known by his mononym Manivannan, was an Indian film director, actor and activist who worked mainly in Tamil cinema and also worked in a few Telugu & Malayalam films. In a career spanning three decades, he went from being a story and dialogue writer for director Bharathiraja from 1980–82 to a successful director who thrived in experimenting with different genres, before becoming an actor. With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and directed exactly 50 films. Manivannan was mainly a supporting actor in films and often played the comedian, supporting character and villainous roles. Meesai Murugesan (13 January 1930 - 8 November 2014) was a veteran actor and musician who appeared in Tamil films. He starred in more than 100 films and has done supporting roles in various films. Music career He started his career by playing the 'Kottankuchi' (coconut shell), alongside great musicians like K. P. Sundarambal, M. K. T. Bhagavathar, T. M. Soundararajan and Seerkazhi Govindarajan. Tiruchirapalli Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (born 29 October 1931 – 18 July 2013) was an Indian poet who is the highest songs wrote lyricist in cinema and whose works were in Tamil, had a five-decade long association with the Tamil film industry, wrote over 15,000 songs. Pulavar Pulamaipithan (6 October 1935 – 8 September 2021) was an Indian scholar, poet and lyricist who got recognition through the song "Naan yaar nee yaar" which was featured in the Tamil film ''Kudiyirundha Koyil'' in 1968.
