Vyanda is a town and seat of the Commune of Vyanda in Bururi Province in southern Burundi. Bururi Province is one of the eighteen provinces of Burundi, provinces of Burundi. The Provinces of Burundi, provinces of Burundi are subdivided into 119 commune (subnational entity), communes. The communes are further subdivided into Collines of Burundi, collines. Burundi’s provinces and communes were created on Christmas Day in 1959 by a Belgian colonial decree. They replaced the pre-existing system of chieftains. In July 2022, the government of Burundi announced a complete overhaul of the country’s territorial subdivisions. The proposed change would reduce the amounts of provinces from 18 to 5, and reduce the amount of communes from 119 to 42. Miombo
Miombo woodland is a tropical and subtropical grasslands, savannas, and shrublands biome (in the World Wide Fund for Nature scheme) located in central and southern tropical Africa.
