Vladimir Efimkin
Vladimir Alexandrovich Efimkin () (born December 2, 1981, in Kuybyshev) is a Russian retired professional road bicycle racer, who last rode alongside his twin brother Alexander Efimkin on . He had established himself as a solid all-around cyclist. Biography In 2005, his first year has a pro, Efimkin started with solid results in April and May, with a huge performance in the Four Days of Dunkirk, where he won a stage and almost won the overall classification, finishing second. However, his major title of the season only came in August, where he won the Volta a Portugal. After a fabulous breakaway in one of the queen stages, and benefiting from the passivity of the peloton (that were known to underrate the unknown Russian), he captured the yellow jersey and kept it until the end. The 2007 Vuelta a España, the 62nd edition of the cycle race, took place from 1 September until 23 September 2007. For the first time in a decade, the race started in the region of Galicia (Spain), Galicia, at Vigo, home to Óscar Pereiro, with a flat stage. The 2009 Tour Down Under was the 11th edition of the Tour Down Under cycling stage race, taking place over 20–25 January in and around Adelaide, South Australia. The Tour Down Under was the first race outside Europe to be given ProTour status by the Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI, and this edition was the first race in the inaugural 2009 UCI World Ranking, UCI World Ranking calendar. 2008 Tour De France
The 2008 Tour de France was the 95th running of Tour de France, the race. The event took place from 5 to 27 July. Starting in the French city of Brest, France, Brest, the tour entered Italy on the 15th stage and returned to France during the 16th, heading for Paris, its regular final destination, which was reached in the 21st stage. The race was won by Carlos Sastre. Unlike previous years, time bonuses were no longer awarded for intermediate sprints and for high placement on each stage. 2007 Tour De Suisse
The 2007 Tour de Suisse, the 71st edition of the cycle race, took place from 16 June until 24 June. As usual, the race began with a short prologue and featured a long individual time trial. Besides, riders also had to face several mountain stages in the Swiss Alps, including the Grimselpass, a 12.1 kilometres long climb with an average gradient of 6.6% and slopes at 10%. The race also visited the neighbouring countries of Liechtenstein and Austria. The four top finishers of the 2006 edition, Jan Ullrich, Koldo Gil, Jörg Jaksche and Ángel Vicioso did not take part in 2007, as in one way or another they were all affected by the '' Operación Puerto'' affair.
