Virginia State Route 110 (SR 110) is a primary state highway in Arlington, Virginia, Arlington, Virginia. Known as the Richmond Highway (formerly Jefferson Davis Highway), the state highway runs from U.S. Route 1 in Virginia, U.S. Route 1 (US 1) and Interstate 395 (District of Columbia–Virginia), Interstate 395 (I-395) in Crystal City, Virginia, Crystal City north to Interstate 66, I-66 in the Rosslyn, Virginia, Rosslyn neighborhood. Crystal City is an urban neighborhood in the southeastern corner of Arlington County, Virginia, approximately south of Downtown (Washington, D.C.), Downtown Washington, D.C. George Washington Parkway
The George Washington Memorial Parkway, colloquially the G.W. Parkway, is a limited-access parkway that runs along the south bank of the Potomac River from Mount Vernon, Virginia, northwest to McLean, Virginia, and is maintained by the National Park Service (NPS). It is located almost entirely in Northern Virginia, except for a short portion of the parkway northwest of the Arlington Memorial Bridge that passes over Columbia Island in Washington, D.C. The parkway is separated into two sections joined by Washington Street ( State Route 400) in Alexandria. A third section, which is the Clara Barton Parkway, runs on the opposite side of the Potomac River in the District of Columbia and suburban Montgomery County, Maryland. State Route 244 (SR 244) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known as Columbia Pike, the state highway runs from SR 236 in Annandale to the Arlington County line. Columbia Pike continues east to SR 27 and Interstate 395 (I-395) at The Pentagon in Arlington. Columbia Pike is a major southwest–northeast thoroughfare in northeastern Fairfax County and eastern Arlington County, connecting Annandale with SR 7 at Bailey's Crossroads and SR 120 in the multicultural Westmont neighborhood of Arlington. Boundary Channel
Boundary Channel is a Channel (geography), channel off the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. The channel begins at the northwestern tip of Columbia Island (District of Columbia), Columbia Island extends southward between Columbia Island and the Virginia shoreline. It curves around the southern tip of Columbia Island before heading northeast to exit into the Potomac River. At the southwestern tip of Columbia Island, the Boundary Channel widens into the manmade Pentagon Lagoon. History of Boundary Channel Columbia Island is in part natural, and in part man-made. The 14th Street bridges refers to the three bridges near each other that cross the Potomac River, connecting Arlington, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Sometimes the two nearby rail bridges are included as part of the 14th Street bridge complex. A major gateway for automotive, bicycle and rail traffic, the bridge complex is named for 14th Street ( U.S. Route 1), which feeds automotive traffic into it on the D.C. end. The Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) is an annual marathon held in Washington, D.C., and Arlington County, Virginia. The mission of the MCM is to promote physical fitness, generate community goodwill, and showcase the organizational skills of the United States Marine Corps.
