is an original anime film series created by director Yasuomi Umetsu and animation production studio Shaft. It is directed by and features character designs by Umetsu, with Yuji Honjo and Yuki Funagakure serving as art directors, Yūya Takahashi writing film scripts, and Yoshiaki Dewa composing the music. The first part, ''Clockwork Girl'', was given a limited theatrical release starting June 27, 2025. Yasuomi Umetsu
is a Japanese animator, director, writer, and storyboard artist. Career Umetsu studied at the and was originally not interested in pursuing a career in the anime industry, and instead wanted to pursue a career as a manga artist. While in his 20s, he drew a short manga for Kodansha and decided to give up on pursuing manga due to feeling that it wasn't for him. After graduating from vocational school, he had trouble finding a job, and was introduced to Tsuchida Production through the head of the department at his school, but he felt that the company's style didn't suit him and did work for other companies in the industry eventually resulting in his firing after 1-2 months. is a 2000 original video animation (OVA) directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. In the United States these OVAs were edited into an anime movie that was released on DVD in the same year. The OVA, which concerns a young woman, Mikura Suzuki, and her mercenary business, the Danger Service Agency (D.S.A.), is the spiritual sequel to Umetsu's ''Kite'', as both feature the continuing elements of a highly trained female protagonist, dark comedic tone, extremely violent and slickly directed over-the-top action sequences, as well as the graphic sex scenes, which can be found only in the uncut version. Hajime Ootani
is a Japanese animator, director, and storyboard artist. Early life Ootani was born in Fukui Prefecture on September 22, 1979. He first became interested in animation while in high school after seeing Hayao Miyazaki's film ''Princess Mononoke''. Career Ootani joined studio Imagin as an in-between animator around 2004.
