Vincent Sidley Gardiner (23 October 1885 – 3 October 1972) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and Carlton in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football competition in Australia operated by the Australian Football League (AFL) as a second-tier, regional, semi-professional competition. It includes teams from clubs based in east ... (VFL). Gardiner came from a footballing family, his father John had played for Carlton, and his brother Jack also played for Melbourne and Carlton. Gardiner began his career with Melbourne, but only played two games for the Redlegs in 1905. Gardiner then made his debut for the Carlton Football Club in round 3 of the 1907 season. Vin Catoggio
Vincenzo "Vin" Catoggio (born 13 May 1954) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League. He was noted for his outrageous afro haircut and because of this was considered one of the real characters of the game. He is of Italian descent and played for three VFL clubs. Family He is the second son of the five children of Leonardo and Rocchina Catoggio. Leonardo arrived in Australia in 1938, and Rocchina in 1936. Both Vin's grandfathers Carmine, and Vincenzo arrived together in Australia, from Montemurro, Italy, in 1927, and their families arrived later. Vin married Victoria Watson in 1982. Ervin "Vin" Bruce (April 25, 1932 – June 8, 2018) was one of the first Cajun musicians to appear on the Louisiana Hayride and Grand Ole Opry. Biography Bruce was born in Cut Off, Louisiana. His father, Levy Bruce, worked as a trapper and fisherman, and played fiddle at local Cajun dances, usually held in someone's front room. Being from a musical family, Vin's interest in Cajun music grew and at the early age of 10 he learned how to play the guitar on his own. He also learned to sing. John Vincent Weber (born July 24, 1952) is an American politician and lobbyist from Minnesota. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1981 to 1993. Early life and education Weber was born in Slayton, Minnesota. Vincent Waite (26 February 1949 – 5 July 2003) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the VFL. His son Jarrad followed in his footsteps and started his football career with Carlton, being drafted under the father–son rule. Recruited as a seventeen year old, from the Latrobe Valley town of Morwell, Waite kicked two goals with his first two kicks in league football. Vincent Edward Scully (November 29, 1927 – August 2, 2022) was an American sportscaster, best known for his broadcast work in Major League Baseball. Scully was the play-by-play announcer for the Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers for sixty-seven years, beginning in 1950 and ending in 2016. He is considered by many to be the greatest sports broadcaster of all time.
