Viborg HK
Viborg HK (Viborg Håndbold Klub) is a Danish professional handball club from Viborg, Denmark, Viborg. The club has many teams for both women and men, but especially the professional women's team is one of the most successful in Danish and European handball since the beginning of the 1990s. This team currently competes in the women's Danish Women's Handball League. The women's team have won a total of 14 Danish Championships (all-time record), ten Danish Cup Championships (ranking second in all-time Cup trophies behind FIF (handball), FIF), three Women's EHF Cup Championships (all-time record), and three EHF Women's Champions League Championships (ranking fifth in all-time Champions League trophies). Frederiksberg Idræts-Forening, often just called Frederiksberg IF or FIF is a Danish sports club based in Frederiksberg. The club has teams in many different sports, but is most famous for its handball team. The men's team is currently playing in the second tier, Danish 1st Division. Camilla Larsen Degn (born 19 December 1997) is a Danish handball player and beach handball player who currently plays for Viborg HK. She signed for Viborg HK from her childhood club, Randers HK in 2023 when her former club declared bankruptcy. At Viborg Hk she was reunited with her former coach Ole Bitsch. The Danish Super Cup is a tournament, in the format of a Supercup, played in both women's and men's handball. The tournament is arranged by Divisionsforeningen which also organises the Danish handball leagues. It was held the first time in 2011. In the tournament, the winner of last season's Danish Men's Handball Cup or Danish Women's Handball Cup meets the winner of the Danish Men's Handball League or Danish Women's Handball League. The Herreligaen (men's league), formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen (men's handball league), is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Herreligaen are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are Aalborg Håndbold. Season The Herreligaen season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. The Danish Women's Handball Cup (), known as the Santander Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the main domestic cup tournament for Danish women's handball clubs, which is partially organised and supervised by the Danish Handball Federation. The competition has been played annually since 1964. Tournament structure The initial fase of the tournament is split in two. They are managed by the three regional federations, Jydsk Håndbold Forbund (JHF) in Jutland, and Håndboldregion Øst (HRØ) in Sealand together with Fyns Håndbold Forbund (FHF) in fyn.
