Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (, SOŠV) is the National Olympic Committee representing Slovakia in the International Olympic Committee. It is based in Bratislava, Slovakia. History The Czechoslovak Olympic Committee is one of the oldest NOCs in the world, having been founded in 1899 as Bohemian Committee for the Olympic Games (). It was transformed into the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee in 1919 and then both the Czech Olympic Committee and the Slovak Olympic Committee (, SOV) was founded and reconstituted on 19 December 1992, and both NOCs were recognized on 20 January 1993. It is one of two successors of the Czechoslovak Olympic Committee (ČSOV) which dissolved on 27 March 1993. Alpine Skiing At The 2010 Winter Olympics – Men's Combined
The men's super combined competition of the Vancouver 2010 Olympics was held at Whistler Creekside in Whistler, British Columbia. The competition was scheduled for February 16, but was postponed due to weather delays in preceding races; it was held five days later on February 21. American athlete Bode Miller won his only Olympic gold medal, Ivica Kostelić of Croatia won silver, and Silvan Zurbriggen of Switzerland took the bronze. One major change in this event for the 2010 Olympics was the switch from a traditional dedicated "combined" (K), taking place over one or two days and involving a downhill run and two slalom runs (as the combined had been since its reintroduction to the Olympics in 1988), to a one-day "super combined" (SC), consisting of a downhill run in the morning and one slalom run in the afternoon. Miroslav Matiaško (born 14 July 1982) is a former Slovak biathlete. Career Matiaško debuted in the Biathlon World Cup in the relay in Brezno-Osrblie on 20 December 2002, and his first individual race was on 18 January 2003 in the 10 km sprint event in Ruhpolding. As of January 2015, he has earned one World Cup podium, in the mixed relay event at Kontiolahti in the 2011–12 season. His best individual performance is a 6th-place finish in the individual at the 2010–11 Pokljuka event. His best overall finish in the World Cup was in 2010–11, placing 73rd. His best performance at a World Championships is 9th, in the 2008 relay. As an individual, his best performance is 32nd, in the 20 km individual in 2013. He also won a silver medal at the 2003 Junior World Championships, in the individual. He competed in the 2006, 2010 and 2010 Winter Olympics for Slovakia. Marek Matiaško (born 29 October 1977) is a former Slovak Biathlon, biathlete. Matiaško was born in Bojnice, Trenčín, Slovakia on 29 October 1977. He competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics, 2002, 2006 Winter Olympics, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, 2010 Winter Olympics in a range of biathlon events.
