Utagō Station
is a passenger railway station located in the town of Abu, Abu District, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by the West Japan Railway Company (JR West). Lines Utagō Station is served by the JR West San'in Main Line, and is located 549.2 kilometers from the terminus of the line at . Only local trains stop at this station. Station layout The station consists of two ground-level opposed side platforms; however the footbridge connecting the platform has been removed, and only one of the side plaforms is now in use, serving bi-directional traffic. The station building was also dismantled, and a waiting room was installed on each platform. History Utagō Station was opened as a terminus of the Japan Government Railways Mine Line when the line was extended extended on 15 November 1931. Mine Line
The is a railway line owned and operated by the West Japan Railway Company. It connects San'yō-Onoda to Nagato, both in Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. History The Sanyo Railway Company opened the Asa to Minami-Omine section in 1905 to haul coal. The company was nationalised in 1906, and the Japanese Government Railway (JGR) extended the line to Mine in 1909. The Mine Light Railway Company opened the Mine to Shigeyasu section in 1916. That company was nationalised in 1920, and the JGR opened the section to Ofuku the same year. The line was extended to Nagato in 1924, completing the line. Freight services ceased in 1984, except for limestone haulage from Shigeyasu, which ceased in 2009. All services were suspended after heavy rainstorm flooding in July 2010. The is a railway line in western Japan, which connects Kyoto and Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). It is the major railway line of the San'in region, approximately paralleling the Japan Sea, crossing Kyoto, Hyōgo, Tottori, Shimane, and Yamaguchi prefectures. The main portion from Kyoto to Hatabu is the longest single continuous railway line in Japan at , although no regularly scheduled train operates over the entire line. The Sea of Japan is the marginal sea between the Japanese archipelago, Sakhalin, the Korean Peninsula, and the mainland of the Russian Far East.
