Upham is a small village and civil parish in the south of England located in Hampshire approximately 7 miles south-east of Winchester . Upham is a town in Langlade County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 676 at the 2010 census. The unincorporated communities of Koepenick and Summit Lake are located in the town. History The town was named in honor of Wisconsin Gov. William H. Upham. Geography Upham is in the north-central part of Langlade County. U.S. Route 45 crosses the town, leading south to Antigo, the county seat, and north to Monico. Summit Lake, the main community in the town, is at the northern border, on the lake of the same name. Greater Bass Lake, Clear Lake, and Deep Wood Lake are the largest of several other lakes in the area. Upham Mansion
Upham Mansion also known as Gov. William H. Upham House at 212 West Third Street, Marshfield, Wisconsin, is the former family home of Wisconsin governor William H. Upham. The house is now a museum and lies in the NRHP registered Upham House Historic District. The mansion is Italiante style, constructed in 1880. The furnishings of the house are mainly the original family furnishings, other items are of a matching, Victorian, vintage. Many are products of Upham's furniture business. Notable is an engraving of Lincoln reading the Emancipation Proclamation presented to Upham by the subject. Also of note is a Shimmeger harp sent to Chicago to be assembled and rescued from the Chicago fire. Upham is a civil parish in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to the 2023 governance reform, it formed the local service district of the parish of Upham, which was a member of Regional Service Commission 8 (RSC8). Origin of name The parish was probably named in honour of Joshua Upham, Loyalist military commander and later judge on the Supreme Court of New Brunswick. Members of the Upham family settled in the area after Joshua's death. History Upham was erected in 1835 from Hampton Parish. It included Hammond Parish. In 1858 Hammond was erected as its own parish. Upper Upham
Upper Upham is a hamlet and deserted medieval village in the civil parish of Aldbourne in the English county of Wiltshire. Its nearest town is Marlborough, which lies approximately to the south-west; the hamlet is reached by a narrow lane off the B4192 Aldbourne- Swindon road. To the northwest of the hamlet are extensive remains of a medieval village, with a hollow way, house platforms and evidence of agriculture. The settlement is first documented as ''Upammere'' in a charter of 955, and by 1201 its name had become Upham. There were 40 taxpayers in 1377 but the population dwindled in the 15th and 16th centuries. The manor was held by Lacock Abbey from around 1249 until the Dissolution. USS ''Upham'' (APD-99), ex-DE-283, was a United States Navy high-speed transport in commission from 1945 to 1946. Construction and commissioning ''Upham'' was laid down as the ''Rudderow''-class destroyer escort USS ''Upham'' (DE-283) on 13 December 1943 by the Charleston Navy Yard, and was launched on 9 March 1944, sponsored by Mrs. Mabel Upham, the widow of the ships namesake, Admiral Frank B. Upham. The ship was reclassified as a ''Crosley''-class high-speed transport and redesignated APD-99 on 17 July 1944. After conversion to her new role, she was commissioned on 23 July 1945.
