University Stadium (Thiruvananthapuram)
University Stadium or Kerala University Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in the city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and is used for predominantly football and also for athletics. University stadium had hosted the first one-day international cricket match in kerala. The stadium is owned by the University of Kerala and was opened by Sir Mirza the Diwan of the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad in 1940. The stadium has a capacity of 20,000. The G. V. Raja Pavilion is in the stadium. The stadium was used as the home ground for the Indian domestic cricket team Kerala till the late 1980s. The stadium has hosted 2 ODI matches with the host team India losing one match and the other match yielded no result. Kerala University
University of Kerala, formerly the University of Travancore, is a state-run public university located in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. It was established in 1937 by a promulgation of the Maharajah of Travancore, Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the university. C. P. Philip Verant Simmons (born 18 April 1963) is a Trinidadian cricket coach and former cricketer who was an all-rounder played as an opening batsman, a medium-fast bowler and a slip fielder. A delivery or ball in cricket is a single action of bowling a cricket ball toward the batsman. Once the ball has been delivered, batsmen may attempt to score runs, with the bowler and other fielders attempting to stop this by getting the batsmen out.
