United States Show Jumping Hall Of Fame
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum is an American organization located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. It moved to the Kentucky Horse Park in 2010 and was previously located in facilities at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. It came into existence in 1989 as a means to pay homage to the people and horses who have made outstanding contributions to the sport of show jumping. Authentic (show Jumping Horse)
Authentic, nicknamed "Bud" (foaled June 22, 1995), is a Dutch Warmblood gelding that used to compete in show jumping. He has won three Olympic medals and two World Equestrian Games medals. He is owned by Abigail Wexner, and was ridden by Olympic medalist Beezie Madden. Authentic is a bay with a star and snip and stands high. He was retired from competition in 2009 and is now in Cazanovia, NY, at the Madden's farm. Pedigree Competitive career In 2004, Authentic and Madden made double-clear rounds at the Athens Olympic Games which helped the U.S team win the gold medal. The team also won the $25,000 PDP WEP Challenge Cup Series Round V that same year. In 2005 the pair were part of the American team that won its first ever Samsung Super League Nations' Cup. ''The Natural'' is a 1952 novel about baseball by Bernard Malamud, and is his debut novel. The story follows Roy Hobbs, a baseball prodigy whose career is sidetracked after being shot by a woman whose motivation remains mysterious. The story mostly concerns his attempts to return to baseball later in life, when he plays for the fictional New York Knights with his self-made bat "Wonderboy". Based upon the bizarre shooting incident and subsequent comeback of Philadelphia Phillies player Eddie Waitkus, the story of Roy Hobbs takes some poetic license and embellishes what was truly a strange, but memorable, account of a career lost too soon. Starman (horse)
Starman (foaled 31 March 2017) is a British Thoroughbred racehorse. A specialist sprinter, he did not race as a two-year-old but won three of his four races as a three-year-old including the Garrowby Stakes. He emerged as one of the best sprinters in Europe in 2021 with wins in the Duke of York Stakes and the July Cup. Background Starman is a "huge" bay colt with a small white star bred and owned by David Ward. He was born and raised at Whatton Manor Stud in Nottinghamshire from birth to the end of his yearling year. The colt was sent into training with Ed Walker at Upper Lambourn in Berkshire.
