Udenhout
Udenhout is a village and a former municipality in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located northeast of Tilburg, north of Berkel-Enschot and south of the National Parc Loonse en Drunense Duinen. The municipality of Udenhout (including the village of Biezenmortel) was independent until 1997, when it became part of the municipality of Tilburg. Biezenmortel became part of the municipality of Haaren. Udenhout preferred to join the municipality of Loon op Zand, but was nevertheless assigned to Tilburg. The municipality consisted at the time of abolition in 1996 9,028 inhabitants and was 26.87 km2. During Carnaval Udenhout is called: "d'n Haozepot". History The village was first mentioned in 1233 as Odenhout. The etymology is unclear. Udenhout is a linear road village which started to develop at the end of the 18th century. Tilburg
Tilburg () is a city and municipality in the Netherlands, in the southern province of North Brabant. With a population of 222,601 (1 July 2021), it is the second-largest city or municipality in North Brabant after Eindhoven and the seventh-largest in the Netherlands as a whole. Berkel-Enschot
Berkel-Enschot is a Dutch village, located in the municipality of Tilburg in the North Brabant province which borders Belgium. Geography Berkel-Enschot is located between Tilburg and Oisterwijk. Surrounding towns and hamlets are Brem, Heikant, Heuveltje, 't Hoekske, Hoog-Heukelom, Hoogeind, de Kraan, Laag-Heukelom, Loonse Hoek, Oisterwijkse Hoeve and Udenhout. History The village was formed when two agricultural villages, Berkel and Enschot, eventually merged. From 1811 until 1996, together with neighboring hamlet Heukelom, the village formed an individual municipality which was split up in 1997. Haaren, North Brabant
Haaren () is a town and former municipality in the southern Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant. The former municipality of Haaren ceased to exist on 1 January 2021. It was divided among four municipalities: Boxtel, Oisterwijk, Tilburg, and Vught. The former municipality of Haaren contained three other villages: Helvoirt, Esch, and Biezenmortel. Sint-Michielsgestel () is a village in the municipality of Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands. Geography The 120 km long river Dommel flows north from a well near Peer in Belgium. Just north of 's-Hertogenbosch it is joined by the Aa and joins the Meuse as Dieze. It currently divides Sint-Michielsgestel in two parts. In the past the Dommel was important as a transport axis and had crucial influence on the village's history.
