USAFA Team Handball
USAF Team Handball is a handball club from Air Force Academy, Colorado, United States. They are the handball team of the United States Air Force Academy. They are one of the most successful men's college teams. Besides the Adelphi University and UCLA they are the only college team which has won an adult national title in 1978. History After the Falcons men's basketball became second at the 1976 USA Team Handball Nationals in the adults and collegiate divisions the club was founded in 1976 by the two basketball captains Bob Djokovich and Thomas Schneeberger they both played at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. At the 2015 Summer Universiade the club represented the national team. They had additionally one student from the Colorado State University. Bob Djokovich
Robert Ray Djokovich (born August 10, 1956) is an American former Basketball and Handball player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics in handball. He was the 6th President of the USA Team Handball. He was born in Gary, Indiana. Career as College player He was between 1977–78 co-captain at the basketball team of the United States Air Force Academy which he played from 1974 to 1978. In 1976 he and Thomas Schneeberger started a handball club at the USAFA and won the handball nationals six times. Career as National player Between 1977 and 1987 he was national player at the United States men's national handball team The United States national handball team is controlled by USA Team Handball. 2019 IHF Super Globe
The 2019 IHF Super Globe was the thirteenth edition of the IHF Men's Super Globe, a yearly club world championship in handball organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The tournament was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia from 27 to 31 August 2019. FC Barcelona Handbol, FC Barcelona won their fifth title after defeating THW Kiel 34–32 in the final. Venue The championship was played in Dammam, at the Ministry of Sports Hall. Teams Ten teams were competing in the 2019 tournament, two more than in previous tournament. The USA Team Handball College National Championships is a team handball tournament to determine the Men's and Women's College National Champion from the United States. History The best college team from the Nationals was recognized as College champion until 1996. After the Olympic Games in 1996 in Atlanta the College Nationals were founded.
