University Challenge
''University Challenge'' is a British television quiz programme which first aired in 1962. ''University Challenge'' aired for 913 episodes on ITV from 21 September 1962 to 31 December 1987, presented by quizmaster Bamber Gascoigne. The BBC revived the programme on 21 September 1994 with Jeremy Paxman as the quizmaster. Paxman will relinquish his role as host following the conclusion of the 52nd series in 2023, after which he will be succeeded by Amol Rajan. In October 2022, an ITV documentary, ''Paxman: Putting Up With Parkinson's'', revealed how the disease has impacted him and revealed that Paxman recorded his very last episode of ''University Challenge'' on 15 October 2022, which is to air sometime in 2023. The UC compander system (with "UC" derived from Universal Compatible or Universal Compander) is a noise reduction system for vinyl records, aiming at highest playback compatibility even without corresponding UC expander. Overview The UC compander system was developed in the 1980s by (ZWT) of (RFT) in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR). The system was based on the observation that the dynamic range of typical audio source material almost always needs to be reduced in the vinyl mastering process and that very similar system parameters are commonly applied in the process either by the sound engineer or through the hardware. Universal Composability
The framework of universal composability (UC) is a general-purpose model for the analysis of cryptographic protocols. It guarantees very strong security properties. Protocols remain secure even if arbitrarily composed with other instances of the same or other protocols. Security is defined in the sense of protocol emulation. In placental mammals, the umbilical cord (also called the navel string, birth cord or ''funiculus umbilicalis'') is a conduit between the developing embryo or fetus and the placenta. Unassisted childbirth (UC) refers to the process of intentionally giving birth without the assistance of a medical birth attendant. It may also be known as freebirth, DIY (do-it-yourself) birth, unhindered birth, and unassisted home birth. Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a long-term condition that results in inflammation and ulcers of the colon and rectum. The primary symptoms of active disease are abdominal pain and diarrhea mixed with blood (hematochezia). Weight loss, fever, and anemia may also occur.
