The Utah Blaze was a professional arena football team based in Salt Lake City, Utah and competed in the West Division of the Arena Football League. Home games were played at the EnergySolutions Arena. In 2013, the team did not submit proper documentation to remain in the AFL and the entire roster was reassigned to other teams in the league. History The original Utah Blaze (2006–08) In September 2004, Commissioner C. David Baker announced that Salt Lake City, Utah was awarded an Arena Football League (AFL) franchise for the 2006 season. EnergySolutions Arena
The Delta Center is an indoor venue in Salt Lake City. Opened in 1991, the arena is the home of the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Utah Mammoth of the National Hockey League (NHL). The arena has a seating capacity of 18,175 for basketball, up to 11,131 for ice hockey and indoor football, and 20,000 for Concert, concerts. It has 56 luxury suites and 668 club seats. Siaha Burley (born July 16, 1977) is an American former professional football wide receiver who played in the Arena Football League (AFL). He played college football at UCF. He was the head coach of the Jacksonville Sharks from 2017 to 2019 and in 2022. Early life Burley attended Westwood High School in Mesa and was a letterman in football, basketball, and track. In football, as a senior, he was an All-City and an All-State selection as a wide receiver and as a defensive back. College career Before Burley transferred from Mesa Community College to the University of Central Florida where he played football, he played in the Arizona Football League. Caesar Rayford
Caesar Rayford (born March 4, 1986) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the BC Lions, Spokane Shock, Utah Blaze, Jacksonville Sharks, Calgary Stampeders, Montreal Alouettes, Los Angeles Kiss and Tampa Bay Storm. Iowa Barnstormers
The Iowa Barnstormers are a professional indoor football team based in Des Moines, Iowa, that competes in the Indoor Football League (IFL). They play their home games at Wells Fargo Arena, known in indoor football circles as "The Well". Several teams called the Iowa Barnstormers have played in different indoor football leagues since 1995. The original Arena Football League team played in Des Moines' Veterans Memorial Auditorium from 1995 to 2001, and subsequently relocated to Uniondale, New York, where they were known as the New York Dragons. Thomas Grady (born March 18, 1985) is an American former professional football quarterback who primarily played in the Arena Football League (AFL). After a standout high school career at Edison High School, Grady signed with the University of Oklahoma to continue his football career. After a lack of playing time for two years, Grady transferred to the University of Utah. While at Utah, Grady saw limited action again, making only three starts in his career. After going undrafted in 2008, Grady played for the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the af2 in 2009. West Valley City is a city in Salt Lake County and an inner suburb of Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah.
