Ubersketch
The Ubersketch is a moniker for a collection of sketches created in The Geometer's Sketchpad by the PRISM-NEO project which mimic ( virtual) manipulatives, such as the ones found at The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives. The editor of the collection is Greg Clarke of the Simcoe-Muskoka Catholic District School Board. Manipulative (mathematics Education)
In mathematics education, a manipulative is an object which is designed so that a learner can perceive some mathematical concept by manipulating it, hence its name. The use of manipulatives provides a way for children to learn concepts through developmentally appropriate hands-on experience. The use of manipulatives in mathematics classrooms throughout the world grew and diversified considerably in popularity throughout the second half of the 20th century. Mathematical manipulatives are frequently used in the first step of teaching mathematical concepts, that of concrete representation. The second and third steps are representational and abstract, respectively. Mathematical manipulatives can be purchased or constructed by the teacher. Examples of common manipulatives include number lines, Cuisenaire rods, fraction strips, base ten blocks (also known as Dienes or multibase blocks), interlocking linking cubes (such as Unifix), construction sets (such as Polydron and Zometo ...

The Geometer's Sketchpad
The Geometer's Sketchpad is a commercial interactive geometry software program for exploring Euclidean geometry, algebra, calculus, and other areas of mathematics. It was created as part of the NSF-funded Visual Geometry Project led by Eugene Klotz and Doris Schattschneider from 1986 to 1991 at Swarthmore College. Nicholas Jackiw, a student at the time, was the original designer and programmer of the software, and inventor of its trademarked " Dynamic Geometry" approach; he later moved to Key Curriculum Press, KCP Technologies, and McGraw-Hill Education to continue ongoing design and implementation of the software over multiple major releases and hardware platforms. Present versions run Microsoft Windows and MacOS Ventura. It also runs on Linux under Wine with a few bugs. There was also a version developed for the TI-89 and TI-92 series of Calculators. In June 2019, McGraw-Hill announced that it would no longer sell new licenses. Nonetheless, license-free 64-bit version of ...

Virtual Manipulatives For Mathematics
Virtual manipulatives for mathematics are digital representations of physical mathematics manipulatives used in classrooms. The goal of this technology is to allow learners to investigate, explore and derive mathematical concepts using concrete models. Common manipulatives include base ten blocks, coins, 3D blocks, tangrams, rulers, fraction bars, algebra tiles, geoboards, geometric planes, and solid figures. Use in special education Virtual math manipulatives are sometimes included in the general academic curriculum as assistive technology for students with physical or mental disabilities Disability is the experience of any condition that makes it more difficult for a person to do certain activities or have equitable access within a given society. Disabilities may be cognitive, developmental, intellectual, mental, physica .... Students with disabilities are often able to still participate in activities using virtual manipulatives even if they are unable to en ...
