UVV Utrecht is a sports club based in Utrecht (city), Utrecht, the Netherlands. It was founded in 1902 in a merger between several clubs that date back to 1893. In 2009, the club removed its former acronym, ''Utrechtse Voetbal Vereniging'' (Utrecht Football Association), and is now known by the three letters UVV. The club has teams in the following sports: Association football, football, tennis, baseball, softball, and beach volleyball. The baseball team competes in the Honkbal Hoofdklasse, the top Dutch league. The team plays at the Sportpark Paperclip. The UVV baseball stadium has a capacity of 1,000. The baseball team was formerly named UVV Pickles due to an advertising agreement. The club rejoined the Hoofdklasse in 2023, replacing Storks (sports club), Silicon Storks. Harry Van Den Ham
Harry Van Den Ham (born 16 August 1954) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player. Playing career Van den Ham played for UVV Utrecht in his youth and from the age of 11 began playing for USV Elinkwijk. With Elinkwijk, he became Dutch champions with the Sunday amateurs in 1974. In 1975, he switched from the amateurs to professional football. Van den Ham subsequently played in the Netherlands for FC Utrecht, SC Cambuur, FC Den Bosch, DS '79 and PEC Zwolle. In 1980, he was briefly playing for the Tulsa Roughnecks in the United States. In Belgium he also played for Berchem Sport. In 1985, Van den Ham began playing with the Utrecht-based amateur association USV Holland. At the age of 34, Van den Ham made his comeback in the Eredivisie for VVV in 1988. Erik Tammer
Erik Tammer (born 29 June 1969) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a striker. He is the current co-owner of USL League Two club Dayton Dutch Lions. Playing career Tammer played youth football with VV de Meeuwen, DSO/Ultrajectum, UVV and Ajax. He experienced his senior breakthrough at Excelsior, where he became the 1991–92 Eerste Divisie top goalscorer, and subsequently was mostly known for his stint with Heerenveen. There, he reached promotion to the Eredivisie and during the same season reached the KNVB Cup final, which was eventually lost to his former club Ajax. Tammer also experienced success at Go Ahead Eagles, and almost made a move to Spanish club Osasuna. Jan Willem van Ede (born 13 April 1963 in Utrecht) is a retired Dutch football goalkeeper. Playing career Club He played the majority of his career for hometown club FC Utrecht and as of 2017, still holds the record of most Eredivisie games played for the club with 409. He made his professional debut on 8 September 1982 for Utrecht against PEC Zwolle and won the 1985 KNVB Cup with the club. He later became reserve goalkeeper at PSV and FC Twente and also played for Haarlem in the Eerste Divisie and NAC. Alje Schut (born 18 February 1981) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defender for FC Utrecht, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kozakken Boys. Career Born in Utrecht, Schut began his career with his hometown club FC Utrecht, making his professional debut on 3 October 1999. In 2004 he spent seven months injured following a bacterial infection in his knee. In March 2005 he suffered another knee injury, ending his season. He was still suffering from that same injury in January 2006; at that time he was expected to return to fitness in April 2006.
