5MMM (identified on air and in print as Triple M) is a radio station broadcasting in Adelaide, Australia. Its target demographic is the 30-54 age group. Triple M Adelaide is part of Southern Cross Austereo's Triple M Network and broadcasts on the 104.7 MHz frequency. Triple M Adelaide has in the past simply networked the majority of its shows from its Sydney and Melbourne counterpart stations, but since 2011 it has focussed more on local content. History 5MMM had its origins as an AM radio station, commencing broadcasting as 5KA on 25 March 1927 on the frequency 1200 kHz. In 1941 the station and its repeater 5AU, along with interstate stations 2HD and 4AT, were closed by the Federal Government after allegations of fifth column activities. Mount Lofty (, elevation AHD) is the highest point in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges. It is located about east of the Adelaide city centre, within the Cleland National Park in the Adelaide Hills area of South Australia. Samuel Forsyth (Methodist)
Samuel "Sam" Forsyth (1 May 1881 – 24 August 1960) was a Methodist minister and social worker in South Australia. Life He was born in Aghyaran near Castlederg, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, a son of devout Methodists, and at age 15 apprenticed to a draper. He migrated to Australia in 1901, staying for four months with an uncle who was father of Major General John Forsyth, then moved to Melbourne, where he had secured a position with Foy and Gibson. He left for New Zealand, where he worked for a year at Wellington. He moved to South Australia in 1905 to study at W. L. Morton's Hope Lodge Missionary Training College at Belair. High Voltage Radio (identified as Triple M's High Voltage Radio in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide and Mix 94.5's High Voltage Radio in Perth) was a pop up Digital Radio station broadcasting nationally in Australia while AC/DC were touring the country in 2010. The station was part of Austereo's Triple M Network and only played AC/DC music. Programming The station exclusively played music by AC/DC and included the band's biggest hits, album tracks, live performances and rarities. Byron Cooke, the anchor of Triple M Sydney's Grill Team, was the host of the station and conducted interviews with the band, talked to people going to the concerts and talked about unknown AC/DC trivia. AC/DC (stylised as ACϟDC) are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Their music has been variously described as hard rock, blues rock, and heavy metal, but the band calls it simply "rock and roll". SAFM (official callsign: 5SSA) is a commercial FM radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Hit Network. The station is broadcast to Adelaide, South Australia from studios in Franklin Street. History The station began broadcasting on 12 September 1980, on the frequency of 107.5 MHz, with a call sign of 5SSA and an original on-air branding of "Double SA-FM" which was very short-lived and soon replaced by "SA-FM".
