Transmission Communications (or Trans:Com) is an independent record label based in Brisbane, Australia. The label focusses on production and performance of electronic music; including techno, industrial, synthpop, experimental, and all manner of crossovers. During the 1990s, the label released a range of compilations for the Brisbane scene, including Evidence, Cyberia, and Abstraction, as well as releasing works from Pure Bunk, Low Key Operations, Sphere, Tycho Brahe, The Blood Party, All Electric Kitchen, and others. ''Transmission'' was a literary magazine in the United Kingdom. ''Transmission'' is a non-profit publication, and everybody involved in its production is a volunteer. It was published three times a year, and ceased publication in 2008. History ''Transmission'' was founded in 2004 by Dan McTiernan and Graham Foster. Printed in Manchester, it was originally chiefly concerned with finding and championing unpublished authors from the North of England. However, as the magazine grew in popularity it began to accept submissions from all over the UK (although it still remains loyal to Manchester). Since its launch, it has featured short stories and interviews with a range of notable literary figures including Doris Lessing, Toby Litt and (in September 2006) Dave Eggers. ''Mouth Silence'' is the second mashup album by American musician and comedian Neil Cicierega. Following the format of his previous release, '' Mouth Sounds'', the album is composed of mashups and remixes of popular songs from the 1980s, 1990's, and 2000's. Unlike ''Mouth Sounds'', which used the song " All Star" by Smash Mouth as a recurring element, no tracks on ''Mouth Silence'' explicitly reference Smash Mouth. A third installment, ''Mouth Moods'', was released in 2017, and a fourth installment, '' Mouth Dreams'', in 2020. Although ''Mouth Silence'' is the second album released in the series, according to Cicierega, it is a prequel to ''Mouth Sounds.'' It is, jokingly, also considered a "Squeakuel" to ''Mouth Moods','' and a "Shriekquel" to ''Mouth Dreams.'' "Transmission" is a song by English post-punk band Joy Division. Originally recorded in 1978 for the band's aborted self-titled album, it was later re-recorded the following year at a faster tempo and released by record label Factory as the band's debut single. Release "Transmission" was released on 7" vinyl in October 1979 by record label Factory. It was re-released as a 12" single with a different sleeve in December 1980. The single charted twice in New Zealand, debuting at number 2 in September 1981 and re-appearing again at number 24 in July 1984. The song was performed once by the band on television, for the BBC ''Something Else'' programme. Twenty seconds of the song is shown in the movie ''Control'' (2007), directed by Anton Corbijn, a film based on the biography of Ian's wife, Deborah Curtis's ''Touching from a Distance''.
