Tranquillity High School
Tranquillity High School (founded in 1917) was formerly known as Tranquillity Union High School (TUHS) until THS and other satellite schools in the area combined and formed the Golden Plains Unified School District in the early 1990s. Prior to the formation of the new district, students from the town of Mendota also attended there. The school serves the communities of Tranquillity, San Joaquin, Helm and Cantua Creek and is fully accredited through 2022. Cruz Bustamante
Cruz Miguel Bustamante (born January 4, 1953) is an American politician. He previously served as the 45th lieutenant governor of California from 1999 to 2007, serving under governors Gray Davis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. A member of the Democratic Party, Bustamante previously served as the Speaker of the California State Assembly from 1996 to 1998. Early life and education The eldest of six children, Cruz Bustamante was born in Dinuba, California. His family later moved to San Joaquin, California. Joseph Graham "Gray" Davis Jr. (born December 26, 1942) is an American attorney and former politician who served as the 37th governor of California from 1999 to 2003. In 2003, only a few months into his second term, Davis was recalled and removed from office. He is the second state governor in U.S. history to have been recalled. A member of the Democratic Party, Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School.
