Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling
, often abbreviated to TJPW, is a Japanese joshi puroresu or women's professional wrestling promotion founded in 2012 as a sister promotion of DDT Pro Wrestling. Initially running alongside other shows such as live music and other idol performances, it became its own standalone promotion starting on February 28, 2015. TJPW's biggest show of the year is the annual January 4th "Ittenyon" show held at Korakuen Hall. As of 2020, TJPW is promoted under the CyberFight banner as a sister promotion to both DDT Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah. History Formation (2012–2013) On June 4, 2012, Tokyo Joshi Pro was announced by DDT Pro Wrestling. Set to be run by former Ice Ribbon and NEO Japan Ladies Pro-Wrestling promoter and booker Tetsuya Kodo and wrestler Nozomi, the promotion was established in late 2012 and thus a recruitment process began for wrestlers. Joshi Puroresu
is the predominant style of professional wrestling that has developed in Japan. The term comes from the Japanese pronunciation of , which is shortened to puroresu. The term became popular among English-speaking fans due to Hisaharu Tanabe's activities in the online Usenet community. Kyohei Mikami
(born December 28, 1973), known by his stage name Mikami, is a Japanese professional wrestler. He is best known for his work for Dramatic Dream Team both as a singles wrestler and with Thanomsak Toba in a tag team called Suicide Boyz. Career Coming from a background in gymnastics and Greco-Roman wrestling, Mikami started training professional wrestling in Universal Lucha Libre in 1993. After passing another tentative year in Michinoku Pro Wrestling, he eventually joined Pro Wrestling Crusaders, where he served as a referee before debuting in 1996 against Nosawa Rongai. is a Japanese actress and former bodybuilder, singer, idol and professional wrestler. Saiki was trained for a career in pro wrestling in the Wrestle-1 dojo under Akira Nogami and Kaz Hayashi, and made her debut in March 2016. Wrestle Universe
, formerly known as , is a subscription-based video streaming service owned by CyberAgent's subsidiary CyberFight. On October 24, 2016, DDT Owner Sanshiro Takagi came down to the ring prior to that day's event and announced that DDT would be debuting their own video-on-demand service, called DDT Universe, in January 2017. Some major DDT events air live on the service, which also features matches from the promotion's archives, dating back to 2004, as well as matches from DDT's affiliate and sister promotions DNA (DDT New Attitude), Pro-Wrestling Basara, Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling, Union Pro Wrestling and Ganbare Pro Wrestling.
