The districts of Peru () are the third-level country subdivisions of Peru. They are subdivisions of the provinces, which in turn are subdivisions of the larger regions or departments. There are 1,838 districts in total. Overview A 1982 law requires a minimum of residents in an area for a new district to be legally established: 3,500 if it is located in the rainforest, 4,000 in the Andes highlands and 10,000 in the coastal area. Chachapoyas is a province of the Amazonas Region, Peru. The province of Chachapoyas was a part of the department of Trujillo (according to the supreme decree of February 12, 1821) being its capital the city of Chachapoyas. # The 2005 Peru Census was a detailed enumeration of the Peruvian population. It was conducted by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática from July 18 through August 20, 2005. Its full name in Spanish is ''X Censo de Población y V de Vivienda'' ("Tenth Population and Fifth Household Census"). The previous census performed in Peru was the 1993 Census. The following census was the 2007 Census. Luya Province
Luya is located in the south and west part of the department of Amazonas in Peru. Its territory, which partly is ceja de selva, is crossed by branches of the Cordillera Central (namely the Cordillera Blanca) and the Oriental of the Andes, being rasped by deep streams, high pampas and snowed summit. It deserved to be named the streams of Hoyada Grande and Luya, the fertile valleys of Pizuquia and Cesuya, as well as the snow-capped mountains of Shube, Mesón and Santa Clara located in the Cordillera Oriental.
