Tin Shui Wai Sports Ground is a multi-use sports ground at 2 Tin Shui Road, Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long, Hong Kong. It has a grass football field and a 400m running track. Tin Shui Wai
Tin Shui Wai New Town is a satellite town in the northwestern New Territories of Hong Kong. Originally a ' fish pond area, it was developed in the 1980s as the second new town in Yuen Long District and the eighth in Hong Kong. It is due northwest of Central, the main business area in the territory, on land reclaimed from low-lying areas south of Deep Bay, next to historic Ping Shan. while the total projected population for when the town is fully built-out is about 306,000. History The land on which Tin Shui Wai was built did not exist at the beginning of the 1900s, while the adjacent Ping Shan was by the sea. New Territories
The New Territories is one of the three main regions of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula. It makes up 86.2% of Hong Kong's territory, and contains around half of the population of Hong Kong. Historically, it is the region described in the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), is a department in the Government of Hong Kong. It reports to the Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau, headed by the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism. It provides leisure and cultural activities for the people of Hong Kong, which was also one of the tasks of the former Urban Council, and Regional Council and Home Affairs Bureau. It manages various public facilities around Hong Kong including public libraries, swimming pools, and sports centres. Yuen Long Football Club (), previously known as Best Union Yuen Long () for sponsorship reasons, is a Hong Kong professional football club based in Yuen Long which currently competes in the Hong Kong First Division. The football teams of the club were originally organised by Yuen Long District Sports Association (). Hong Kong Pegasus FC () are a Hong Kong football club based in Yuen Long. Founded in 2008, the club currently competes in the Hong Kong Third Division. History TSW Pegasus was established in June 2008, and they had their first season in 2008–09 Hong Kong First Division League with a budget of about HKD$10,000,000. On 21 December 2008, Pegasus won their first trophy, defeating Sun Hei in the 2008 Senior Shield Final. In July 2012, the club was renamed as Sun Pegasus following introduction of a new sponsor. After the 2014–15 season, Sun International Resources Limited withdrew their sponsorship. Their club was renamed Hong Kong Pegasus following a takeover by Canny Leung. Yuen Long is a town in the western New Territories, Hong Kong. The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. Benton Cheung Yan-lung, CBE, OStJ, JP (18 April 1922 – 19 September 2021) was a Hong Kong businessman and politician with New Territories rural background. He was a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1981 to 1991 and chairman of the Regional Council of Hong Kong and New Territories Heung Yee Kuk. Biography Cheung was born on 18 April 1922 in a New Territories village in the North District nearby the Hong Kong–China border to his father Cheung Chi-hang and his wife Choi Siu-tai. Having graduated from the La Salle College and with a degree in economics from the University of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Canton, Cheung worked in his father's business in Hong Kong. The Regional Council (RegCo; ) was a municipal council in Hong Kong responsible for municipal services in the New Territories (excluding New Kowloon). Its services were provided by the Regional Services Department, the executive arm of the Regional Council. Its headquarters were located near Sha Tin station.
