''Thus is Life'' (Spanish: ''Así es la vida'') is a 1930 American Spanish language romantic comedy film directed by George Crone and starring José Bohr, Delia Magana and Lolita Vendrell. It was produced as the Spanish version of the English language film '' What a Man!'', also directed by Crone.Waldman, Harry & Slide, Anthony. George Crone
George Crone (1894–1966), also known as George J. Crone, was an American director and editor, whose career spanned both the silent and sound film eras. He began his career cutting the silent film '' Let's Be Fashionable'' in 1920. Between that film and his final screen credit, editing '' Arruza'' (released in 1972), he edited over 40 films, and directed over a dozen more. ''Arruza'' was released 6 years after Crone's death. Crone had worked with director Budd Boetticher, on Boetticher's obsession, a docudrama regarding his friend Carlos Arruza, the famous bullfighter. Boetticher had used ten cameras to film 2 of Arruza's bullfights in January and February 1966, and Crone was tasked with editing the different fights together. Crone died shortly after completing the tasks, in June 1966. Earlier in his career, he had been the original editor on '' Citizen Kane'', before being replaced by Robert Wise. Delia Magaña
Delia Magaña (February 2, 1903 – March 31, 1996) was a Mexican film and television actress, singer, and dancer. Life Although she started as a silent film actress, Magaña became best known for her comic supporting roles in her later years. For her 60 years in the film industry, as well as for contributing to the American cinema, Magaña's name and handprint are preserved in the sidewalk outside Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. Films She made 14 films in the United States and around 240 in her native Mexico. Magaña's first movies were silent films. She later appeared with such film stars as Pedro Infante and Mario Moreno, who went by the screen name of Cantinfias. Fox Film producer Robert J. Flaherty spotted Magana at the age of twenty. He was in Mexico City working on a motion picture.
