Thunder Seven
''Thunder Seven'' is the seventh studio album by Canadian hard rock band Triumph, released in November 1984. Three songs on the second half of the album follow a concept based on time-related themes. The album was certified gold in the US by the RIAA, with sales of over 500,000 copies, on April 21, 2003, almost nineteen years after its initial release. " Follow Your Heart" was the band's highest charting single of the time, reaching #88 in both the UK and the US. "Spellbound" was also released as a single, though it didn't prove as successful, only charting in Canada and barely scraping the top 100. ''Thunder Seven'' was the last Triumph album that did not feature any outside writers. All prior Triumph albums, with the exception of 1977's ''Rock & Roll Machine'', were written entirely by the band members. Triumph (band)
Triumph was a Canadian hard rock band formed in 1975 that was popular in the late 1970s and the 1980s, building on its reputation and success as a live band. Between its 16 albums and DVDs, it has received 18 gold and nine platinum awards in Canada and the United States. It was nominated for multiple Juno Awards, including the 'Group of the Year Award' in 1979, 1985, 1986, and 1987. It was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2007, into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2008, and into Canada's Walk of Fame in 2019. ''Rock & Roll Machine'' (also ''Rock 'N' Roll Machine'') is the second studio album by Canadian hard rock band Triumph. It was first released in 1977 by Attic Records. The album contained in the band's first hit, a version of Joe Walsh's " Rocky Mountain Way". A different "international" version of the album was released on RCA Records in the United States and other countries in 1978. This edition replaces some tracks from the original Canadian version with tracks from the self-titled debut ''Triumph'' (1976) album, along with new artwork. The album was released for a second time in Canada, with a different cover than the original one or the international one, using the re-sequenced tracks from the international version. A concept album is an album whose tracks hold a larger purpose or meaning collectively than they do individually. Robert C. Ludwig (born c. 1945) is an American mastering engineer. He has mastered recordings on all the major recording formats for all the major record labels, and on projects by more than 1,300 artists including Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Bryan Ferry, Paul McCartney, Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen and Daft Punk resulting in over 3,000 credits. He is the recipient of numerous Grammy and TEC Awards. Rik Emmett
Richard Gordon Emmett (born July 10, 1953) is a vocalist, guitarist, and member of the Canadian rock band Triumph. Career Emmett left Triumph in 1988 to pursue a solo career. His first solo album, '' Absolutely'', was released in 1990 and became a moderate hit across the United States and Canada thanks to the hits "When a Heart Breaks," "Big Lie" and "Saved by Love". He is also a writer for ''Guitar Player'' magazine and teaches song-writing and music business at Humber College in Toronto. For a time during the 1980s, Emmett contributed cartoons to ''Hit Parader'' magazine satirizing the music industry. Mike Levine (musician)
Michael Stephen Levine (born 1 June 1949) is the bassist and keyboardist for the Canadian hard rock band Triumph (band), Triumph. Early life Levine was born in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Toronto, Scarborough. Career In 1970 Levine helped to bring back together the band Motherlode (band), Motherlode, which had broken up after releasing one hit single and a couple of less popular recordings. They toured around northern and western Ontario before disbanding once again. Levine played bass in the Toronto blues band Abernathy Shagnaster's Wash and Wear Band with guitarist Fred Keeler, keyboardists Peter Young and drummer Gil Moore. Gil Moore
Gil Moore is a Canadian musician. Born in Toronto, Moore was the drummer and co-vocalist (sharing vocal duties with guitarist/vocalist Rik Emmett) of the Canadian power trio Triumph. Before Moore was in Triumph he was in a band called Sherman & Peabody which also featured Buzz Shearman of Moxy and Greg Godovitz of Goddo. He co-wrote and contributed lead vocals to a number of Triumph songs and also performed this function live. While Emmett's vocals and songwriting tended toward the more melodic side of Triumph, Moore's vocal and writing style was more blues/hard rock oriented, although on the original line-up's last two albums, Moore also began writing and singing lead on a number of softer, ballad-style songs.
