Threshold House
Threshold House is one of several record labels created by Coil to release their own work and that of affiliated projects. Associated labels include Eskaton and Chalice. It is also the name for the official Coil website. The label was initially a vanity label of sorts, as all releases were manufactured and distributed by other labels, most prominently World Serpent Distribution. Following the bankruptcy of World Serpent, the label continued independently. The logo for Threshold House is a castle-like building, possibly what Coil have referred to as "The East Tower" in past interviews, and a moon. It is also very similar to artist recreations of the buildings at Catalhoyuk. After the death of John Balance and the disbanding of Coil, Peter Christopherson started a solo effort, The Threshold HouseBoys Choir, based on the name Threshold House. Releases LOCI The series of "LOCI" were released when Coil resided in England. THRESH & THBKK The "THRESH" and "THBKK" series b ...

Some obviously correspond to earlier and later released material ("Golden Hole" to "Penetralia", MS Herald of Free Enterprise#Capsizing, "...Of Free Enterprise" to "Herald", etc.), while others ("Boy in a Suitcase") do not appear anywhere else. The record contains a wide array of cultural references, including to people such as Marquis de Sade, Alfred Jarry, Salvador Dalí, Charles Manson, and others. ''Scatology'' was first released in 1985 (with a 1984 copyright date) on LP, by Force & Form and K.422 ( Some Bizzare Records sublabel). It was reissued by Force & Form in 1988 on CD and later by Threshold House in 2001. Windowpane & The Snow
''Windowpane & The Snow'' was a CD released by the band Coil. This release compiles the two EPs, " Windowpane" and " The Snow". The original versions of the songs "Windowpane" and "The Snow" appear on the album ''Love's Secret Domain''. Background "The Snow (As Pure As?)" remix is credited to John Balance and Drew McDowall. "The Snow (Driftmix)" and "The Snow (Out in the Cold)" remixes are by Peter Christopherson. "The Snow (Answers Come in Dreams I)" and "The Snow (Answers Come in Dreams II)" were remixed by Jack Dangers, also known as Meat Beat Manifesto, and are something of a departure for Coil, expressing a rather more mainstream Acid House feel. These two remixes frequently repeat a sample of the introductory elephants from Jean-Michel Jarre's '' Zoolook'' album, and prominently feature a house-style bass organ and breakbeat. Danny Hyde and Stephen Thrower are also credited on the sleeve notes. Track listing # "Windowpane (Minimal Mix)" - 5:38 # "Windowpane" - 5:48 # "Wi ...

How To Destroy Angels (Remixes And Re-Recordings)
''How to Destroy Angels (Remixes and Re-Recordings)'' is a remix album by Coil. All of the songs are remixes from the 12" single of the same name, and features cover artwork by filmmaker Derek Jarman. The remixes were produced by John Balance, Peter Christopherson, and Steven Stapleton of Nurse with Wound. The song "Absolute Elsewhere" is blank and silent, as it was originally released. It is portrayed in this release as a single second of silence. Stolen & Contaminated Songs
''Stolen & Contaminated Songs'' was the first of two albums recorded and produced by the band Coil in 1992. The album is composed of outtakes and unreleased songs from their prior album, ''Love's Secret Domain''. Background Although track one is listed as "Futhur", its title is supposed to be "Further", as the track is a variation on "Further Back and Faster" from the ''Love's Secret Domain'' sister album. An alternate version of "Who'll Fall?" was released as "Is Suicide a Solution?" on the single "Airborne Bells/Is Suicide a Solution?". The song "Omlagus Garfungiloops" features excerpts of dialogue from the 1990 cult film '' The Reflecting Skin''. After the final track, "Light Shining Darkly", there is a short period of silence before a hidden track plays. Release details The first edition (LOCI4) had a different cover and came without info of any kind, except for a small numbered flyer stating "This is stolen and contaminated songs". Windowpane (album)
"Windowpane" is a song by British experimental band Coil, from their third studio album, ''Love's Secret Domain''. Background Written and produced by the band with lyrics by John Balance, it was released in 1990 by Threshold House on 12" vinyl and CD; in the US, the single was licensed by the indie record label Wax Trax! Records. The song's accompanying video was directed by Peter Christopherson. "Windowpane" appears here truncated, missing the backwards vocals as they appear on the end of the song's album version. The "Astral Paddington Mix" is purely instrumental. Regarded as a “proto-‘ trip-hop’” track, the song refers in the title to LSD encapsulated in thin gelatin squares, with the lyrics referring to the subjective effects of an LSD trip ("See microscopic, see world view, see the future leaking through; see the person who once was you"). Release history Three versions of this single were pressed on 12" vinyl, a white label promo, a picture disc, and a standard e ...
