''This Man Is Dangerous'' is a 1936 thriller novel by the British writer Peter Cheyney. It is the first in his series of ten novels featuring the FBI agent Lemmy Caution. A bestseller, it enabled Cheyney to leave his job as a policeman and become a full-time novelist. Adaptation In 1953 it was made into a French film of the same title directed by Jean Sacha and starring Eddie Constantine as Caution along with Colette Deréal, Grégoire Aslan and Claude Borelli Claude Borelli (1934–1960) was a French film actress. Peter Cheyney
Reginald Evelyn Peter Southouse-Cheyney (22 February 1896 – 26 June 1951) was a British crime fiction writer who flourished between 1936 and 1951. Cheyney is perhaps best known for his short stories and novels about agent/detective Lemmy Caution, which, starting in 1953, were adapted into a series of French movies, all starring Eddie Constantine (however, the best known of these – the 1965 science fiction film '' Alphaville'' – was not directly based on a Cheyney novel). Another popular creation was the private detective Slim Callaghan who also appeared in a series of novels and subsequent film adaptations. Although out of print for many years, Cheyney's novels have never been difficult to find second-hand. Several of them have recently been made available as e-books. Claude Borelli (1934–1960) was a French film actress. Grégoire Aslan (born Krikor Kaloust Aslanian; 28 March 1908 – 8 January 1982) was a Swiss-Armenian actor and musician. Early life Krikor Kaloust Aslanian ( hy, Գրիգոր Գալուստի Ասլանյան) was born in Switzerland or in Constantinople, according to different sources. He made his professional début at 18 as a vocalist, trumpeter and drummer with the Paris dance band of Ray Ventura et ses Collegiens, then launched an acting career under the name of Coco Aslan. Eurovision Song Contest 1961 Deréal was born in Saint-Cyr-l'École, Seine-et-Oise (now Yvelines), France. In 1961, Deréal represented Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest 1961, with the song " Allons, allons les enfants" (Let's go, let's go children).
