The Unamenables
''The Unamenables'' (russian: Неподдающиеся, Nepoddayushchiyesya) is a 1959 Soviet comedy, directorial debut of Yuri Chulyukin. Plot Two foolish and frivolous guys cause suffering for the whole work team at the factory. It was already decided to fire Anatoly Gracchkin (Yuri Belov) and his friend Victor Gromoboev (Alexei Kozhevnikov), but they are taken under the wing by Nadia Berestova (Nadezhda Rumyantseva), a diminutive funny woman, known as the popular one at the plant. Because of Nadia's status of a respectable and reliable person, the Komsomol members, without wasting time immediately give her the assignment to re-educate the boys. At first, Nadya takes it with reluctance and apprehension, but gradually this task becomes the most important thing in her life. The All-Union Film Festival (russian: Всесоюзный кинофестиваль; tr.:''Vsesoyuznyy kinofestival'', also known as ВКФ; ''VKF'') was one of the most important film festivals of the Soviet Union. Sergey Nikolayevich Filippov (russian: Сергей Николаевич Филиппов, 24 June 1912— 19 April 1990) was a Soviet and Russian film and stage actor and comedian, best known for his parts in films ''Adventures of Korzinkina'' (1941), ''The Night Patrol'' (1957) and the adaptation of Ilf and Petrov's classic ''The Twelve Chairs'' (1971), which granted him the People's Artist of the RSFSR title in 1974. Yuri Vladimirovich Nikulin (russian: Юрий Владимирович Никулин; 18 December 1921 – 21 August 1997) was a Soviet and Russian actor and clown who starred in many popular films. ''Oblomov'' ( ru , link=no, Обломов; ) is the second novel by Russian writer Ivan Goncharov, first published in 1859. Ilya Ilyich Oblomov is the central character of the novel, portrayed as the ultimate incarnation of the superfluous man, a symbolic character in 19th-century Russian literature. Oblomov is a young, generous nobleman who seems incapable of making important decisions or undertaking any significant actions. Throughout the novel he rarely leaves his room or bed. In the first 50 pages, he manages only to move from his bed to a chair. The book was considered a satire of Russian intelligentsia. The novel was popular when it came out, and some of its characters and devices have imprinted on Russian culture and language.
