The Motivation
''The Motivation'' is a 2013 documentary film that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. In the film, eight of the world's best pro-skateboarders prepare for the upcoming Street League Skateboarding Championship in New York City. Each equally talented, they all must overcome unique challenges - family pressures, injuries, money, fame and their own internal struggles - for a chance to win $200,000 and the title of best street-skateboarder in the world. The film received a limited theatrical release in the United States on June 30, 2013 and a VOD release on August 6, 2013. It topped the iTunes documentary charts for two weeks in a row upon release. Adam Bhala Lough
Adam Bhala Lough is an American film director, screenwriter, and documentary filmmaker from Fairfax, Virginia. Known for his ability to authentically dramatize subcultures and popular youth cultures, several of Lough’s films have been selected as part of the Sundance Film Festival, and is the only filmmaker with a feature film and a documentary in the festival, as well as a screenplay selected for the annual Sundance Screenwriter's Lab. Nyjah Huston
Nyjah Imani Huston (born November 30, 1994) is an American professional skateboarder. With numerous sponsorships and competition prize winnings, Huston is one of the highest paid skateboarders in the world. Huston won gold medals at the SLS Super Crown World Championship in 2014, 2017 to 2019, and has won 12 gold medals at the X Games since 2011. Early life Huston was born in Davis, California. Raised in a strict Rastafarian lifestyle by his father Adeyemi, Huston and his siblings ate vegan and were homeschooled by their mother Kelle. Bastien Salabanzi ( in Toulon, France) is a French professional skateboarder whose stance is regular. Skateboarding career Salabanzi started skateboarding when he was 9, and soon after gained his first sponsorship by the Skateshop of Toulon. Jereme Rogers (born January 13, 1985) is an American professional skateboarder, well known in the skateboarding sub-culture for his early retirement and rap music production. Rogers returned to professional skateboarding in June 2010 with a press release announcing his own company, Selfish. Ethan Higbee (also known as nahte) is an American filmmaker, music producer and gallerist living in Ojai, California. He is most known for his films Red Apples Falling and The Upsetter, a documentary about Lee Scratch Perry. In 2010 he opened Dem Passwords art gallery in West Hollywood, California.
