The Million Dollar Piano
The Million Dollar Piano was a concert residency by British musician Elton John, which took place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. It was John's second concert residency in Las Vegas after The Red Piano. DVD release The Million Dollar Piano was recorded in February 2012 at a sell out show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The film was broadcast to cinemas across the world in April 2014 before being released on home media on July 1, 2014. The Blu-ray and DVD both feature additional songs from John's tour in Kyiv. The set also features a behind-the-scenes look at 'The Making of The Million Dollar Piano'. Both the DVD and Blu-ray releases have been praised for their video and sound quality. Elton John
Sir Elton Hercules John (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is a British singer, pianist and composer. Commonly nicknamed the "Rocket Man" after his 1972 hit single of the same name, John has led a commercially successful career as a solo artist since the 1970s, having released 31 albums since 1969. "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" is a ballad written by English musician Elton John and songwriter Bernie Taupin, and performed by John. It is the title track on John's album of the same name. The titular road is a reference to L. Frank Baum's '' The Wizard of Oz'' film and book series. The song has been widely praised by critics; some consider it a strong contender for John's finest song ever. ''Rolling Stone'' listed the song at No. 390 of its 500 greatest songs of all time in 2010. In the US, it was certified gold on 4 January 1974 and platinum on 13 September 1995 and 2× platinum on 2 March 2020 by the RIAA. "Circle of Life" is a song from Disney's 1994 animated film ''The Lion King''. Composed by English musician Elton John, with lyrics by Tim Rice, the song was performed by Carmen Twillie (the deep female lead vocals) and Lebo M.
