The Midlands Road
Brand Highway is a main highway linking the northern outskirts of Perth to Geraldton in Western Australia. Together with North West Coastal Highway, it forms part of the Western Australian coastal link to the Northern Territory. The highway is a part of Australia's Highway 1, and is for the most part a single carriageway with one lane in each direction. The highway was completed in 1975 and opened in 1976 being named it in honour of former Premier of Western Australia Sir David Brand. It replaced the Midlands Road from Perth to Dongara. RAAF Gingin
RAAF Gingin , sometimes also RAAF Base Gingin or RAAF Base Gin Gin, is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) small military airfield located at Gingin, in Western Australia. History Constructed during the 1960s, the airfield is set on ; predominantly used for pilot training and various other uses that include the bulk storage and distribution of fuel, with both above-ground and underground storage tanks. The airfield is located north of and by road north of RAAF Base Pearce, which also administers the site. There are no RAAF personnel based at Gingin. In 2016 it was reported that the Australian Government had approved funding for the upgrade of the air traffic control tower at RAAF Gingin. Greenough, Western Australia
Greenough is a historical settlement situated in a floodplain (the Greenough Flats) 400 kilometres north of Perth, Western Australia and 24 kilometres south of Geraldton on the Brand Highway. The settlement's historical buildings are mostly built of local limestone and date to the second half of the 19th century. A sizeable collection of these are owned and managed by the National Trust of Australia. Badgingarra National Park
Badgingarra National Park is a national park in Western Australia, 190 km north of Perth off the Brand Highway adjacent to the town of Badgingarra. The park is in area and features high breakaway country overlooking low undulating sandplains. The park is renowned for its incredible diversity of endemic wildflowers. Mullering Brook passes through the park creating a swampy area.
