The Juliana Theory
The Juliana Theory is an American Rock music, rock duo from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Greensburg and Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, United States. They signed to Tooth & Nail Records, and later to Epic Records for the release of the album ''Love''. They released four studio albums before disbanding in 2006. The band has since reunited three times; once in 2010 for eight shows, again in 2017 for a tour celebrating their 20th anniversary along with 2019, Brett Detar and Joshua Fiedler announced a tour, together with the Spill Canvas, performing Juliana Theory songs acoustically. In 2020 The Juliana Theory announced signing with Equal Vision Records and released their debut EVR single "Can't Go Home" on November 20, 2020. Emotion Is Dead
''Emotion Is Dead'' is the second studio album by American rock band the Juliana Theory, released on August 29, 2000, on Tooth & Nail Records. While touring in support of their debut studio album '' Understand This Is a Dream'' (1999), guitarist Jeremiah Momper and was replaced by Joshua Kosker of Dawson High. Shortly afterwards, the band had begun writing material for the follow-up album. In February and March 2000, the band recorded their next album, with producers Barry Poynter and frontman Brett Detar, at Poynter's Palace in Little Rock, Arkansas, The Detar House, and Poynter's spare bedroom and living room. Described as an alternative rock and emo release, ''Emotion Is Dead'' took elements from Iron Maiden, Radiohead, and the Smashing Pumpkins. ''Emotion Is Dead'' received favorable reviews from music critics, many of whom commented on the dynamic sound. The Spill Canvas is an American alternative rock band from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Known for their hits "All Over You" "Our Song" and "Staplegunned", as well as several emo classics like "All Hail the Heartbreaker" "The Tide" and "Polygraph, Right Now!" Career Lead singer and guitarist Nick Thomas (born May 26, 1984) grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and began learning how to play guitar at 11 years old. Thomas attended Roosevelt High School and sang with the school concert choir and men's choir. He began performing at local venues on his acoustic guitar at 15-years-old and self-released his first punk rock and acoustic CD titled ''The Blur of Motions'' in 2000 with Prairie Dog Studios. ''Understand This Is a Dream'' is the debut studio album by Greensburg, Pennsylvania rock band, The Juliana Theory, released on March 23, 1999 by Tooth & Nail Records. Prior to the release of ''Love'' in 2003, ''Understand This Is a Dream'' had reportedly sold over 150,000 copies. Production ''Understand This Is a Dream'' was recorded between October 16 and 30, 1998 at Poynter Recordings Facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, with producer and engineer Barry Poynter, assisted by Jason Magnusson. The band stayed at the Economy Inn, and were driven to the studio by Momper's parents Pop and Michelle. Detar's and Momper's parents provided additional funding for the sessions; the band loaned equipment from Phyrric Victory. Poynter, Magnusson and Detar mixed the recordings, before they were mastered by Ramone at Oceanview Digital Mastering. Cornerstone Festival
Cornerstone Festival was a Christian music festival put on by Jesus People USA and held annually around July 4 near Bushnell, Illinois, drawing some 20,000 attendees each year. In a given year, many artists that played at Cornerstone also played at other events such as Creation Festival and mainstream festivals and tours such as the Warped Tour. The final festival was held in 2012. Cornerstone Festival was a member of the Christian Festival Association. Brandon Ebel is the founder, president and CEO of Tooth & Nail Records. He founded the label in 1993 in California, United States.
