The Innocent (1986 Egyptian Film)
''The Innocent'' (Arabic البرئ, pronounced: Alparee') is an Egyptian feature film, released on 15 August 1986, starring Ahmed Zaki (actor), Ahmed Zaki, Gamil Ratib, and Mahmoud Abdel Aziz. Plot The film depicts Ahmed Sabe' El Leil (Ahmed Zaki), a young poor farmer, who is serving his mandatory military year. As a result of his marksmanship, he is chosen as a prison guard. At the prison, he encounters the political prisoners who are treated inhumanely. He follows orders to torture and humiliate the prisoners, and even perform executions, Trucks full of university students who participated in the 1977 Egyptian bread riots, 1977 bread riots are brought to this prison, among them is his old friend from the village, Hussein Wahdan. Through Hussein the young guard discovers how oppressive and corrupt the government is, and Ahmed refuses to torture Hussein. Wahid Hamed
Wahid Hamed ( ar, وحيد حامد; 1 July 1944 – 2 January 2021) was an Egyptian screenwriter. Personal life Hamed was born in Beni Quraysh, Sharqia Governorate. He moved to Cairo in 1963 to study in the Department of Sociology at Cairo University. He was married to Zeinab Sweidan, with whom he had his son, Marwan. Work as a screenwriter According to '' Egypt Independent''; "Hamed was concerned with Egyptian society and important issues within the country, and was able to eloquently narrate Egypt’s conditions, dreams, and history." He worked with a number of directors, including Samir Seif, Sherif Arafa and Atef El-Tayeb. He won several awards for his work. In 2020, he won the Golden Pyramid Appreciation Award from the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival for Lifetime Achievement. Ahmed Zaki Metwally Abdelrahman Badawi ( ar, أحمد زكي متولي عبد الرحمن بدوي; 18 November 1949 – 27 March 2005), usually known as Ahmed Zaki ( ar, أحمد زكي), was an Egyptian film actor. He was characterized by his talent, skill, and ability in impersonating. He was also famous for his on-screen intensity. Though he first appeared in a small role within a comedy play, he is widely regarded as one of the most talented male actors, especially in dramatic and tragedy roles. Gamil Ratib ( ar, جميل راتب; 18 August 1926 – 19 September 2018) was an Egyptian actor. He appeared in television and film productions and briefly in theater over a 65-year career. He was known for numerous villainous roles and his appearance in the English-language epic historical drama film ''Lawrence of Arabia''. Biography Born in 1926 in Cairo to an Egyptian family known of their love for arts, Ratib was sent to study arts in Paris. His love of performance came from French theatre, which he studied at the University of France, before making his film debut in 1945. He was a much-awarded actor in both his native Egypt and in France, having worked in both countries, including being given the Legion of Honour. In France, Ratib married a French woman and was given French citizenship. Mahmoud Abdel Aziz ( ar, محمود عبد العزيز; 4 June 1946 – 12 November 2016) was an Egyptian film and television actor. He became famous for several famous roles in Egyptian cinema, before becoming famous in his native Egypt and the whole region for his Egyptian patriotic role in the Egyptian TV series ''Raafat el-Hagan''.
