The Galaxy Express 999
is a song by Japanese rock band Godiego, released as their 11th single. The song was used as the theme song for the Galaxy Express 999 (film), 1979 film adaptation of the Galaxy Express 999, manga of the same name. The song was composed by Godiego vocalist Yukihide Takekawa and arranged by Godiego keyboardist Mickie Yoshino. Like many Godiego songs, it is both in Japanese and English; the English lyrics were written by Yōko Narahashi and the Japanese lyrics were written by Keisuke Yamakawa. The song reached #2 on the Oricon charts and was the #1 song on ''The Best Ten'' for seven weeks. To differentiate it from the theme song of the anime which has the same name in Japanese, it is often referred to by its English title which is stylized as "THE GALAXY EXPRESS 999". are a Japan-based American heavy metal band formed as a tribute to Eizo Sakamoto's band Animetal. They made their world debut at the 2011 Loud Park Festival, where they performed on stage with Momoiro Clover Z. The band's original members consisted of lead vocalist Michael Vescera (of Obsession, formerly of Loudness and Yngwie Malmsteen), guitarist Chris Impellitteri (of Impellitteri), bassist Rudy Sarzo (formerly of Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, and the Geoff Tate lineup of Queensrÿche) and drummer Scott Travis (of Judas Priest and Racer X). Rica Matsumoto
is a Japanese actress, voice actress and singer who was born in Yokohama, Japan. Her name is also sometimes romanized as Rica Matsumoto. She was one of the founders of the anison band JAM Project. After early stage work, she began both voice acting and singing careers. The most popular role by Rica is Satoshi (Ash Ketchum in English translations), the main character of the anime series ''Pokémon''. She also had a role in the '' Yu-Gi-Oh'' series as Ryo Bakura and Yami Bakura. As such, Matsumoto has taken on roles for young boys. Masaaki Endoh
is a Japanese singer-songwriter who is prominent in the area of soundtracks for anime and tokusatsu productions. He is one of the founders of the Anison band JAM Project and has been a regular member ever since its inception in 2000. His nickname is the "Young Lion of Anison" and he goes by the motto "Always Full Voice". was a Japanese heavy metal band who specialized in metal covers of theme songs from classic and modern Japanese anime and tokusatsu television series. They were composed of several luminaries of the Japanese metal scene, most notably vocalist Eizo Sakamoto, who has been involved off and on with Anthem as well as participating in various other projects including the pop rock group Nerima, the JAM Project, and a successful solo career where he also plays lead guitar as well as vocals.
