The Fox In The Chicken Coop
''The Fox in the Chicken Coop'' (Hebrew: , ''Ha Shu'al B'Lul Hatarnegolot'') is a 1978 Israeli film directed by Ephraim Kishon, based on Kishon's satirical book of the same name. It features many prominent Israeli actors of the time, most notably Shaike Ophir and Sefi Rivlin. The film takes a satirical, comic look at the old generation of Israeli politicians. The film was Kishon's last film and was considered a failure. Plot Amitz Dolniker, an aging Israeli Parliament member known for his high-winded babbling and tireless lecturing, is told he needs to take a break from politics after he collapses during a speech. Fainting, he starts out on a dream trip to spend some weeks in a far-away, backward Israeli village that has little contact with civilization. Itzik Kol
Itzik Kol ( he, איציק קול; January 12, 1932 – July 8, 2007) was an Israeli television and film producer considered by many to be a pioneer and originator of Israeli cinema. He died following complications from pneumonia. Biography Yitchak Kolker (later Itzik Kol) was born in Petach Tikva, Mandatory Palestine, the only child of Tova Rosset, a Polish immigrant, and Shalom Kolker, a Ukrainian immigrant who worked as a union organizer and fought for Palestinian-Israeli rights. As a child, Kol trained to be a classical violinist at the urging of his mother. Despite noticeable talent, his interests shifted to politics and socialism during his adolescence and young adulthood when he became a prominent leader in the Israeli youth movement, Hashomer Hatzair. Nitza Saul ( he, ניצה שאול; born June 25, 1950, sometimes credited as Nitza Shaul) is an Israeli actress known for her appearances on British television during the 1980s. In the 1970s Saul starred in several Israeli films, including ''Giv'at Halfon Eina Ona'' (Halfon Hill does not Answer), '' Hashoter Azulai'' (Officer Azulai) and ''Hagiga B'Snuker'' (Party at the Snooker Hall). Yaakov Bodo ( he, יעקב (יענק'לה) בודו; born 28 March 1931) is an Israeli actor and comedian. Biography Yaakov (Yankele) Bodo was born in Romania in 1931 and spoke only Yiddish until the age of 7. He immigrated with his family to Israel in 1950 and settled in Afula. His grandparents were Zionists who helped establish Kfar Hasidim and Kiryat Haroshet (now part of Kiryat Tiv'on) after they emigrated to Mandate Palestine in 1933. Zaharira Harifai ( he, זהרירה חריפאי; December 12, 1929 – January 2, 2013) was an Israeli film, stage, and television actress and recipient of the Israel Prize in Theater, which she was awarded in 2003. ''The Jerusalem Post'' called her "one of Israel's most celebrated actresses." She was born and raised in Tel Aviv. Her father, Haim Leib Harifai, immigrated from Russia in 1922. He became a journalist, but died of pneumonia when Harifai was four years old. Harifai graduated from Mikveh Yisrael agricultural school in 1946 and then became a member of the first brigade of the Palmach battalion. She studied acting and theater at the "Hadramati" school, the drama school of the Cameri Theater. She joined the ensemble of the Cameri Theater in 1968 and remained at the theater until her death in 2013. In 2003, Harifai was awarded the Israel Prize for Theater.
