The Dogfather
The Dogfather was a series of 17 cartoons produced by DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and released between 1974 and 1976. It is the final theatrical cartoon series made by DePatie–Freleng. This cartoon ''The Dogfather'' is the same most of next '' Misterjaw''. Plot ''The Dogfather'' was a parody of ''The Godfather'', but with canines as part of the Italian organized crime syndicate. It consists of the Dogfather (voiced by Bob Holt impersonating Marlon Brando) and his henchmen Pug (also Bob Holt) and Louie (voiced by Daws Butler). The opening credits featured the Dogfather, speaking to the lyrics of a song entitled "I'll make him an offer he can't Refuse". ''The Dogfather'' was later broadcast as part of the NBC Saturday morning cartoon series '' The Pink Panther and Friends''. Bob Holt (actor)
Robert John Holthaus (December 28, 1928 – August 2, 1985), better known as Bob Holt, was an American actor, best known for his voice work. Career Holt's first film role came in 1950, acting as Octavius Caesar in ''Julius Caesar''. His career as a voice artist began with the 1968 short film ''Johnny Learns His Manners'', for which he provided all of the voices. He later appeared in such works as ''Bedknobs and Broomsticks'', several animated television specials with Dr. Seuss, for example, The Lorax (1972) and Hoober Bloob Highway (1975), and the animated film version of ''Charlotte's Web'' as Homer Zuckerman. Joe Piscopo
Joseph Charles John Piscopo ( ; born June 17, 1951) is an American actor, comedian and conservative radio talk show host. He was a cast member on ''Saturday Night Live'' from 1980 to 1984, where he played a variety of recurring characters. His film roles include Danny Vermin in ''Johnny Dangerously'' (1984), Moe Dickstein in '' Wise Guys'' (1986), Doug Bigelow in ''Dead Heat'' (1988), and Kelly Stone in '' Sidekicks'' (1992). Early life Piscopo was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and grew up in North Caldwell. He attended West Essex High School and was a member of the drama club "The Masquers." Lee Gunther
Lee Gunther (May 30, 1935 – August 25, 1998) was a co-founder of Marvel Productions and a film editor (which, in animation parlance, means sound effects editor) on more than 85 animated shorts in all. Career Starting at Warner Bros. in the 1960s, and then at DePatie–Freleng Enterprises, he also worked as a production manager in the 1970s. After DePatie–Freleng was sold to Marvel Comics Group in 1981, Gunther became one of the founders of Marvel Productions Ltd., where he served as executive vice president and executive producer on television series such as '' Spider-Man'', '' G.I. Nelson Shin
Shin Neung-kyun (born 1939), also known as Nelson Shin, is an animation director who is the founder and president of Akom Production Co., Ltd., in Seoul, South Korea. He founded Akom in 1985. Career In the 1970s, Shin worked as an animator at the DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and Marvel Productions, where he worked on the ''Pink Panther'' films and ''Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends''. While at DFE, he also contributed to the animation of the lightsaber blades in the original '' Star Wars''. Much of the animation Shin's studio has produced has been for American television series. ''Kit for Cat'' is a 1948 ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on November 6, 1948 and features Elmer Fudd and Sylvester. Plot The cartoon begins with Sylvester in an alley, strolling past the line of trash cans as if he is at a buffet, trying to find bits of appetizing food; a kitten arrives and starts doing the same, Sylvester yells at him that "this side of the street" is his and throws the kitten away. The weather is freezing and snowy; Sylvester finds a house and bangs on the door, begging for shelter. He falls down, 'frozen', when Elmer Fudd answers the door. ''Hare Trimmed'' is a 1953 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' short directed by Friz Freleng and written by Warren Foster. The short was released on June 20, 1953, and features Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam and Granny. Plot The story opens in a town with a sign saying it is called Doughnut Center with a caption below that reads "What A Hole" and Sam reading a newspaper indicating that a local widow has just inherited . Sam plots to marry the widow to take the money: once he has it, he will take everything else, house and all, from the widow, close the orphanage, and get rid of the police department, but Bugs overhears him and plots to foil the plan by posing as a rival French suitor. ''Satan's Waitin'' is a 1954 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on August 7, 1954, and stars Tweety and Sylvester. A later short, ''Devil's Feud Cake'' (1963), was re-titled ''Satan's Waitin'' when it was featured as part of ''The Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie''. The plot of ''Devil's Feud Cake'' closely follows this one, but features Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. Plot Sylvester is in pursuit of Tweety, chasing him to the top of a building. ''Golden Yeggs'' is a 1950 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' short directed by Friz Freleng. The cartoon was released on August 5, 1950, and stars Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. A forerunner of the Rocky and Mugsy characters appear, with Rocky already in his present-day form. The story was written by Tedd Pierce and animated by Arthur Davis, Gerry Chiniquy, Ken Champin, Virgil Ross and Emery Hawkins.
