The Bojeffries Saga
''The Bojeffries Saga'' is a series of comics stories written by Alan Moore and drawn by Steve Parkhouse which have been published by a number of different companies since their debut in 1983 in the UK comics anthology ''Warrior''. It features an eccentric English family of werewolves, vampires and monsters in various peculiar tales. Steve Parkhouse
Steve Parkhouse is a writer, artist and letterer who has worked for many British comics, especially '' 2000 AD'' and ''Doctor Who Magazine''. Biography Parkhouse has worked in comics since 1967, when he drew the occasional "Power House Pin-Up" of Marvel superheroes for the back covers of ''Fantastic'' and '' Terrific'', two British weeklies published by Odhams. In 1969 his first professional writing assignments appeared when he co-wrote two Marvel Comics stories, one starring the jungle lord Ka-Zar in '' Marvel Super-Heroes'' No. 19 (March 1969), and the other starring the eponymous superspy in '' Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.'' No. 12 (May 1969). Kevin O'Neill (comics)
Kevin O'Neill ( – 3 November 2022) was an English comic book illustrator who was the co-creator of ''Nemesis the Warlock'', '' Marshal Law'' (with writer Pat Mills), and '' The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen'' (with Alan Moore). Career Early career O'Neill began working for the publishing company IPC at the age of 16 as an office boy for '' Buster'', which was a children's humour title. In 1975 he started publishing, as a personal side project, the fanzine ''Just Imagine: The Journal of Film and Television Special Effects'' which lasted five regular issues and one special issue through 1978. Charles Addams
Charles Samuel Addams (January 7, 1912 – September 29, 1988) was an American cartoonist known for his darkly humorous and macabre characters, signing the cartoons as Chas Addams. Some of his recurring characters became known as the Addams Family, and were subsequently popularized through various adaptations. Early life Addams was born in Westfield, New Jersey. Leo Baxendale
Joseph Leo Baxendale (27 October 1930 – 23 April 2017) was an English cartoonist and publisher. Baxendale wrote and drew several titles. Among his best-known creations are the '' Beano'' strips ''Little Plum'', ''Minnie the Minx'', ''The Bash Street Kids'', and '' The Three Bears''. Career Baxendale was born in Whittle-le-Woods, Lancashire, and was educated at Preston Catholic College. After serving in the RAF, he took his first job as an artist for the local '' Lancashire Evening Post'' drawing adverts and cartoons. The Bash Street Kids
''The Bash Street Kids'' is a comic strip in the British comic magazine '' The Beano''. It also appeared briefly in The Wizard as series of prose stories in 1955. The strip, created by Leo Baxendale as ''When the Bell Rings'', first appeared in issue 604 (dated February 1954). It became ''The Bash Street Kids'' in 1956 and has become a regular feature, appearing in every issue. Since 1961, David Sutherland has drawn about 2,100 strips. History Like many long-running UK comic strips, ''The Bash Street Kids'' is mostly frozen in the era when it began. It portrays Class 2B of the Bash Street School in Beanotown, where the teacher and headmaster wear gowns and the students sit at wood desks with inkwells. Robert Crumb
Robert Dennis Crumb (; born August 30, 1943) is an American cartoonist and musician who often signs his work R. Crumb. His work displays a nostalgia for American folk culture of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and satire of contemporary American culture. Crumb is a prolific artist and contributed to many of the seminal works of the underground comix movement in the 1960s, including being a founder of the first successful underground comix publication, '' Zap Comix'', contributing to all 16 issues. Alan Bennett
Alan Bennett (born 9 May 1934) is an English actor, author, playwright and screenwriter. Over his distinguished entertainment career he has received numerous awards and honours including two BAFTA Awards, four Laurence Olivier Awards, and two Tony Awards.
