That Nashville Music
''That Nashville Music'' (originally titled ''That Good Ole Nashville Music'') was an American television program featuring country music artists performing their biggest hits of the day. The series aired in syndication from 1970–85. Early in the series' run it was hosted by country artist Dave Dudley, and featured two or three artists per episode, from the legends to current superstars to up-and-coming acts. In later years each episode was hosted by a different artist, with two other artists featured. Each episode also featured a clogging routine, most often performed by The Rutherford County Square Dancers or the Melvin Sloan Dancers or Ralph Sloan and the Tennessee Travelers. The series was distributed by Show Biz Inc. and produced at Opryland USA in Nashville, Tennessee. Purina Dog Chow was the show's sponsor. Dave Dudley
Dave Dudley (born David Darwin Pedruska; May 3, 1928 – December 22, 2003) was an American country music singer best known for his truck-driving country anthems of the 1960s and 1970s and his semi-slurred bass. His signature song was "Six Days on the Road", and he is also remembered for "Vietnam Blues", "Truck Drivin' Son-of-a-Gun", and "Me and ol' C.B.". Other recordings included Dudley's duet with Tom T. Hall, "Day Drinking", and his own Top 10 hit, "Fireball Rolled A Seven", supposedly based on the career and death of Edward Glenn "Fireball" Roberts. Clogging
Clogging is a type of folk dance practiced in the United States, in which the dancer's footwear is used percussively by striking the heel, the toe, or both against a floor or each other to create audible rhythms, usually to the downbeat with the heel keeping the rhythm. Clogging is the official state dance of Kentucky and North Carolina. Description In later periods, it was not always called "clogging", being known variously as foot-stomping, buck dancing, clog dancing, jigging, or other local terms. Opryland USA (later called Opryland Themepark and colloquially "Opryland") was a theme park in suburban Nashville, Tennessee. It operated seasonally (generally March to October) from 1972 to 1997, and for a special Christmas-themed engagement every December from 1993 to 1997.
