Joe Tex
Yusuf Hazziez (born Joseph Arrington Jr.; August 8, 1935 – August 13, 1982), known professionally as Joe Tex, was an American singer and musician who gained success in the 1960s and 1970s with his brand of Southern soul, which mixed the styles of funk, country, gospel, and rhythm and blues. His career started after he was signed to King Records in 1955 following four wins at the Apollo Theater. Between 1955 and 1964, he struggled to find hits, and by the time he finally recorded his first hit, "Hold What You've Got" in 1964, he had recorded 30 previous singles that were deemed failures on the charts. He went on to have four million-selling hits, "Hold What You've Got" (1965), " Skinny Legs and All" (1967), " I Gotcha" (1972), and " Ain't Gonna Bump No More (With No Big Fat Woman)" (1977). Sergio Bonelli Editore (formerly CEPIM and other names) is a publishing house of Italian comics founded in 1940 by Gian Luigi Bonelli (1908–2001). It takes its name from its former president, comic book writer Sergio Bonelli (1932–2011), son of Gian Luigi. The company popularized the comic book format that became known as ''Bonelliano''. These comic books presented complete stories in 98 black-and-white pages in a pocket book format. The subject matter was always adventure, whether Western, horror, mystery, or science fiction. ''Tex ''is a novel by S. E. Hinton, published in 1979. It was adapted as a film in 1982, which starred Matt Dillon. The book (like ''Rumble Fish'' and '' That Was Then, This Is Now'') takes place in the same universe as Hinton's first book '' The Outsiders'', but in a rural town called Garyville, Oklahoma, a fictional suburb of Tulsa. Latex is an emulsion (stable dispersion) of polymer microparticles in water. Latexes are found in nature, but synthetic latexes are common as well. In 1979, Honeywell Information Systems announced a new programming language for their time-sharing service named TEX, an acronym for the Text Executive text processing system. TEX was a first-generation scripting language developed around the time of AWK and used by Honeywell initially as an in-house system test automation tool. TEX (chemical name 4,10-dinitro-2,6,8,12-tetraoxa-4,10-diazatetracyclo .5.0.05,9.03,11dodecane) is a dense (ρ = 1.985 g cm−3) nitramine high explosive, that derives from the very powerful and sensitive high explosive CL-20. Though related to CL-20 in that is shares the same cage structure, TEX is more easily synthesized in good yield from inexpensive starting materials. Unlike CL-20, TEX is friction insensitive, bears a low impact sensitivity, and possesses a very low shock sensitivity and large critical diameter, making it an interesting explosive filler for insensitive munitions. Nestlé Tex
Nestlé Tex, stylised as TEX, is a South African candy bar made by Nestlé. Overview Tex was created in around 1955 by Rowntree's, and first sold in Canada (around the same time as Coffee Crisp). The bar combines the aerated chocolate of Aero with the wafers of a Kit Kat, and is covered in milk chocolate. Rowntree's launched Tex to the South African market in 1956, where it had more success and is still sold to this day. Rowntree's was later acquired by Nestlé, and now Tex is under the Nestlé brand. Tex was later discontinued in Canada, but is still available via import shops catering to South African expats. As of February 2015, Tex weighed 40 grams. It is easy to spot with its yellow wrapper. Telluride Regional Airport is a public airport six miles west of Telluride, in San Miguel County, Colorado, United States. It is owned by the Telluride Regional Airport Authority. At an elevation of 9,078 feet (2767 m) above sea level, it was the highest commercial airport in North America with scheduled passenger flights when Great Lakes Airlines resumed scheduled passenger service in December 2016; however, those flights ceased in March 2018. Big Tex
Big Tex is a tall figure and marketing icon of the annual State Fair of Texas held at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas. The figure has become a cultural icon of Dallas and Texas. Since 1952 Big Tex has served as a cultural ambassador to visitors, and the figures prime location in the fairgrounds serves as a traditional meeting point. On October 19, 2012, the last weekend of the 2012 State Fair of Texas, Big Tex was destroyed by an electrical fire that started in the right boot and worked its way up the structure, first becoming visible from the neck area.
