Tatuus FR1600
Tatuus is an Italian chassis manufacturer for a series of formula racing series, being first founded in 1980. The company is known for its association with Renault Sport for its production of the Formula Renault chassis. History The Tatuus company was founded by Artico Sandonà in 1980. The first cars were manufactured for the 500cc and 1000cc Formula Monza championship. Founder Sandona was one of the drivers in the Formula Monza championship. Luca Melgrati won the first championship for Tatuus in 1983 in the Formula Panda Monza championship. Sandona achieved a second place in the championship. Tatuus were the team and chassis to beat. Melgrati won the championship again in 1985 and 1986. For the 1988 season the Italian manufacturer was contracted to build the cars for the new Formula König. Steve Rikert (born August 5, 1969 in Rhinebeck, New York) is a former racing driver who competed in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and the USF2000. Career After racing in the regional Skip Barber Eastern Series, Rikert moved to the Barber Saab Pro Series in 1994. The New Yorker finished outside the top ten in the 1994 Barber Saab Pro Series season. The Skip Barber Racing School graduate had a decent run in the 1996 Barber Dodge Pro Series season. Rikert finished fifth at Watkins Glen International. He earned points on several occasions finishing thirteenth in final standings. Rikert ran only six Barber Dodge Pro Series races in 1997. Hoover Orsi Pereira Martins (born May 16, 1978 in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul) is a Brazilian race car driver. He began his professional career in 1998 in the European Formula Renault series where he captured 4th place. Jeffrey van Hooydonk (born 1 October 1977) is a Belgian racing car driver. A native of Antwerp, Van Hooydonk began racing karts in 1990 and graduated to open-wheel racing five years later. For the next three seasons, he was successful in Formula Renault, winning the European Formula Super Renault championship in 1997. He progressed to German Formula Three the following year, finishing sixth in the championship, and then moving up to Formula 3000 in 1999. Despite scoring one pole position, the next two years were largely unsuccessful, and he switched to the Belcar series in 2001 with a Porsche 996. After returning the German F3 in 2002, and finishing fifth overall, van Hooydonk was again promoted to F3000 and remained there for the 2003 and 2004 seasons, with moderate success.
