Nabob (coffee)
Nabob is a brand of coffee produced by Kraft Foods and sold in Canada since 1896. Nabob produces several different blends of coffee which are available in a typical Canadian supermarket. History The Nabob Coffee Company originated in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1896. Its coffee was processed and packaged in the factory of food manufacturing company Kelly Douglas Limited. The name refers to the Anglo-Indian word ''nabob'', a term for a conspicuously wealthy man who made his fortune in the Orient during the British colonial era. Nabob was purchased by German firm Jacobs in 1976. In 1978, the new owners extended the Nabob brand into Central and Eastern Canada and by 1986 Nabob had made its way all across Canada, Quebec being the last province to receive the brand. Second Cup Café, is a Canadian restaurant chain, coffee retailer, and roaster which operates more than 190 cafes nationwide. Its headquarters are in Pierrefonds, Québec. Gevalia ( , , ) is the largest coffee roastery in Scandinavia. In North America, the company sells coffee directly to consumers via home delivery and through big box stores such as Wal-Mart. Gevalia discontinued sales of tea in 2015. Customers order from a customer service center and a website that was relaunched in August 2009. Philippe Suchard
Philippe Suchard (9 October 1797 – 14 January 1884) was a Swiss chocolatier, industrialist and entrepreneur. He founded Chocolat Suchard in 1826. Early life Suchard was born on 9 October 1797, in Boudry, to Louise Sophie Dubey and Guillaume Suchard, an innkeeper. He started as an apprentice in his brother Frédéric's ''Konditorei'' in Bern around 1803, and was an associate in the business between 1815 and 1823.
