Tangub
Tangub, officially the City of Tangub ( ceb, Dakbayan sa Tangub; fil, Lungsod ng Tangub), is a 4th class component city in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 68,389 people. Tangub City is also where the Panguil Bay Bridge is situated. Once completed, the 3.77 km (2.34 mi) bridge will connect Tangub, Misamis Occidental to Tubod, Lanao del Norte. History The city of Tangub grew from a small town. The cty's name came from the Subanen word "''Tangkub''", which is a rice container made of tree bark woven together by rattan strips. A Spanish soldier on patrol in the area found a dead man whom the Subanens described as bitten by a snake inside the “tangkub” when he checked if there was still rice in the container. Misamis Occidental
Misamis Occidental ( ceb, Kasadpang Misamis; Subanen: ''Sindepan Mis'samis''; fil, Kanlurang Misamis), officially the Province of Misamis Occidental, is a province located in the region of Northern Mindanao in the Philippines. Its capital is the city of Oroquieta. The province borders Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur to the west and is separated from Lanao del Norte by Panguil Bay to the south and Iligan Bay to the east. The province of Misamis was originally inhabited by Subanens who were an easy target by the sea pirates from Lanao. The province is named after the early settlement of the Spaniards at the entrance to the Panguil Bay. Tubod, Lanao Del Norte
Tubod, officially the Municipality of Tubod, ( ceb, Lungsod sa Tubod; Maranao: ''Inged a Tubod''; tl, Bayan ng Tubod), is a 2nd class municipality and capital of the province of Lanao del Norte, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 50,073 people. The Panguil Bay Bridge, once completed, will be Mindanao's (and by far, the Philippines') longest bridge, and will connect Tubod to Tangub City in Misamis Occidental. The project, that will cost around US$125,519,000.00, will be obtained through Official Development Assistance of the Korean Export-Import Bank of Korea-Economic Development Cooperation Fund. Panguil Bay Bridge
Panguil Bay Bridge is an under construction bridge which will connect Tangub, Misamis Occidental and Tubod, Lanao del Norte. The bridge when completed will become the longest water-spanning bridge in the Philippines, surpassing the San Juanico Bridge.
