Tai Po Tsai
Tai Po Tsai () is an area and a village, clustering in a small plain around Clear Water Bay Road in Clear Water Bay Peninsula, Sai Kung District, Hong Kong. Geography Tai Po Tsai is located northeast of Tseung Kwan O New Town on the east mid slope of Razor Hill ( Che Kwu Shan) and faces Port Shelter. Pak Shui Wun (), a beach off Tai Po Tsai, is on the shore of Port Shelter. Tai Po Tsai Village Tai Po Tsai Village is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. The indigenous Punti () villagers all have the Chinese surname of Wan (). Because of its proximity to Shaw Studios and TVB many of their artists rent apartments in the village. Kohima Camp or Kohima Barracks as it was officially described () in Tai Po Tsai north of Clear Water Bay Peninsula was the site of a proposed new army barracks to house an additional British infantry battalion to be stationed in Hong Kong following a careful review of the needs of Hong Kong which had taken place over 1980/81. The purpose of the British Hong Kong garrison and of its reinforcement by an additional infantry battalion was intended to demonstrate the British Government's commitment to the integrity and the security of Hong Kong in the run up to 1997. The Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland (3 SCOTS) is an infantry battalion of the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Erskine Barracks was a military installation at Fugglestone St Peter, in Wilton parish some northwest of Salisbury in Wiltshire, England. History The site, which had been farmland until used for temporary army buildings during World War II, was acquired by the British Army for use as a headquarters for Southern Command in 1949. The establishment was centred on Fugglestone Farmhouse and an Ordnance Survey map of 1958 labels it as Fugglestone Camp. The barracks were later named after General Sir George Erskine, who had been GOC Southern Command from 1955 until his retirement in 1958. Ho Chung () is a village on the Sai Kung Peninsula in Hong Kong. The Ho Chung River () runs through the village. Administration Ho Chung is a recognized village under the New Territories Small House Policy. History A Neolithic stone-working site was discovered at Ho Chung in 1999. The village was likely founded in the mid-16th century. Ho Chung was the centre of an inter-village grouping, the Ho Chung Tung () or Ho Chung Seven Villages ().
