TTXGP are the official promoters of FIM eRoadRacing, an electric motorsport race series. Founded by Azhar Hussain MBE in 2008, TTXGP started life as the first zero-carbon, clean-emission race to take place at the Isle of Man TT as teams from around the globe raced electric motorbikes. TTXGP then grew to become a world championship before the company took up the official role as promoters of FIM eRoad Racing when TTXGP and FIM e-Power joined forces in 2013. How TTXGP Started The TTXGP was a new event for the 2009 Isle of Man TT races, promoted by Azhar Hussain, who took the idea forward after a number of different Manx individuals mooted the initial idea. The 2009 Isle of Man TT Festival was held between Saturday 30 May and Friday 12 June on the Mountain Course. Mission Motors was an American company founded in 2007 in San Francisco, California. The company was founded with the aim of creating high-performance, electric motorcycles, but later became a supplier of electric vehicle components. History Mission Motors was founded by Mason Cabot, Forrest North and Edward West in 2007. The company was briefly known as Hum Cycles while it operated in stealth mode. In February 2009, the company revealed the prototype for their first vehicle, the Mission One PLE (Premiere Limited Edition) at the TED conference. The all-electric motorcycle, styled by Yves Béhar, claimed a top speed of 150 miles per hour and a range 150 miles per charge. Rob Barber
Rob Barber (born 1983) is an English professional motorcycle racer, and has also been described as an "IT consultant." He won the only running of the TTXGP in 2009, the forerunner to the TT Zero. In the TT Zero he has multiple podium finishes, including a second place in 2010 Isle of Man TT and third at the 2013 Isle of Man TT and 2014 Isle of Man TT. Together with his father Phil, he runs the PRB Racing team. The FIM eRoad Racing World Cup was a championship of electric motorcycle road racing, organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and was only held in this form in 2013. It followed the unification of the former TTXGP series with the FIM "e-Power" electric motorcycle racing series. History 2013 World Cup season The 2013 eRoadRacing World Cup was planned to consist of 4 races in Europe and 4 in North America, with a world final in Asia. However, only 6 events (4 in Europe and 2 in North America) did actually take place. Annie Seel (born 5 September 1968) is a Swedish-born motorcyclist who set a world altitude record for climbing to Mount Everest base camp on a motorcycle. Seel climbed to , breaking the existing unofficial record by more than , using a 20-year-old Honda XL250 fitted with ice tires. This limitation was due to the Nepalese government's ban on the importation of new motorcycles to Nepal. TT Zero – an electric motorsport event introduced for the 2010 Isle of Man TT races – replaced the similar TTXGP race as a 1-lap (37.733 miles) circuit of the Snaefell Mountain Course. The TT Zero event as an officially sanctioned Isle of Man TT race is for racing motorcycles where "''The technical concept is for motorcycles (two wheeled) to be powered without the use of carbon based fuels and have zero toxic/noxious emissions''." Infineon Raceway
Sonoma Raceway (originally known as Sears Point Raceway from 1967 to 1980 and 1982 to 2002, Golden State International Raceway in 1981 and Infineon Raceway from 2002 to 2012) is a road course and dragstrip located at Sears Point in the southern Sonoma Mountains of Sonoma County, California.
