TNT Championship
The AEW TNT Championship is a men’s professional wrestling television championship created and promoted by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Established on March 30, 2020, it is named after the TNT television network, which currently airs AEW's secondary core program, '' Rampage'', as well as the promotion's '' Battle of the Belts'' quarterly television specials. The inaugural champion was Cody Rhodes. The current champion is Samoa Joe, who is in his first reign. All Elite Wrestling
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. It is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the United States behind WWE. AEW is owned by Shahid Khan and his son Tony, who founded the company in 2019; in-ring performers Matt & Nick Jackson and Kenny Omega also serve as company executives. Its headquarters are located at TIAA Bank Field, the home stadium of the National Football League's Jacksonville Jaguars, a team also owned by Shahid Khan. Noah Anthony Schiavone (, ; born November 7, 1957) is an American sports announcer, professional wrestling commentator and podcaster currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a play-by-play commentator and senior producer. He has previously worked for Jim Crockett Promotions, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Major League Wrestling (MLW). In addition to his work in wrestling, Schiavone has also worked as a broadcaster for the Gwinnett Braves/Stripers of Minor League Baseball and Georgia Bulldogs football. The ''Wrestling Observer Newsletter'' (''WON'') is a newsletter that covers professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. Founded in print in 1982 by Dave Meltzer, the ''Wrestling Observer'' website merged with Bryan Alvarez's ''Figure Four Weekly'' website in 2008, becoming ''Wrestling Observer Figure Four Online''. ''AEW Battle of the Belts'' is an American series of professional wrestling television specials produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It is broadcast on TNT in the United States. Only four episodes were originally planned to air quarterly throughout 2022 but expanded into 2023. The series was originally to air on Saturday nights, but the fourth episode aired on a Friday due to a scheduling conflict. The series premiered with a live episode on January 8, 2022. The fourth and most recent special aired on October 7, 2022. As its name implies, all matches on the one-hour specials are contested for professional wrestling championships. The 2021 Holiday Bash was the second annual Holiday Bash professional wrestling Christmas television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It took place on December 22, 2021, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The two-part event was broadcast on TNT as special episodes of AEW's weekly television programs, '' Wednesday Night Dynamite'' and '' Friday Night Rampage''. The January 2021 New Year's Smash was the inaugural New Year's Smash professional wrestling television special produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). The two-part event took place on January 6 and 7, 2021, at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida and was broadcast on TNT as special episodes of AEW's weekly television program, ''Dynamite''. Night 1 aired live on January 6, while Night 2 was taped on January 7 and aired on tape delay on January 13. Antony Rafiq Khan (born October 10, 1982) is an American businessman, promoter, and sports executive. He is known for his involvement in American football, professional wrestling and soccer. He is best known as the founder and co-owner of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), in which he also holds the positions of president, chief executive, general manager and executive producer of the promotion. Michael Gerard Tyson (born June 30, 1966) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 2005.
