Remakes Of Finnish Films
A remake is a film, Television program, television series, video game, song or similar form of entertainment that is based upon and retells the story of an earlier production in the same medium—e.g., a "new version of an existing film". A remake tells the same story as the original but uses a different casting (performing arts), cast, and may alter the theme or change the story's setting (fiction), setting. A similar but not synonymous term is reimagining, which indicates a greater discrepancy between, for example, a movie and the movie it is based on. Film A film remake uses an earlier movie as its main source material, rather than returning to the earlier movie's source material. 2001 in film, 2001's ''Ocean's Eleven'' is a remake of 1960's ''Ocean's 11'', while 1989's ''Batman (1989 film), Batman'' is a re-interpretation of the comic book source material which also inspired 1966's ''Batman (1966 film), Batman''. In 1998, Gus Van Sant produced an Psycho (1998 film), almos ...

Films Based On Finnish Novels
A film also called a movie, motion picture, moving picture, picture, photoplay or (slang) flick is a work of visual art that simulates experiences and otherwise communicates ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere through the use of moving images. These images are generally accompanied by sound and, more rarely, other sensory stimulations. Recording and transmission of film The moving images of a film are created by photographing actual scenes with a motion-picture camera, by photographing drawings or miniature models using traditional animation techniques, by means of CGI and computer animation, or by a combination of some or all of these techniques, and other visual effects. Before the introduction of digital production, series of still images were recorded on a strip of chemically sensitize ...

West German Films
West or Occident is one of the four cardinal directions or points of the compass. It is the opposite direction from east and is the direction in which the Sun sets on the Earth. Etymology The word "west" is a Germanic word passed into some Romance languages (''ouest'' in French, ''oest'' in Catalan, ''ovest'' in Italian, ''oeste'' in Spanish and Portuguese). As in other languages, the word formation stems from the fact that west is the direction of the setting sun in the evening: 'west' derives from the Indo-European root ''*wes'' reduced from ''*wes-pero'' 'evening, night', cognate with Ancient Greek áŒ•ÏƒÏ€Î”ÏÎżÏ‚ hesperos 'evening; evening star; western' and Latin vesper 'evening; west'. Examples of the same formation in other languages include Latin occidens 'west' from occidƍ 'to go down, to set' and Hebrew ŚžÖ·ŚąÖČŚšÖžŚ‘ maarav 'west' from ŚąÖ¶ŚšÖ¶Ś‘ erev 'evening'. Navigation To go west using a compass for navigation (in a place where magnetic north is the same di ...
