Tween (Wye Oak Album)
''Tween'' is the fifth studio album by indie band Wye Oak. It was released digitally on June 9, 2016 by Merge Records in the United States. The physical album was officially released on August 5, 2016. ''Tween'' is unique in that all the songs were "written, scrapped, and re-purposed" by Wye Oak in between the years 2011 and 2014. Therefore, the tracks for the album are all remnants from their past albums ''Civilian'' and '' Shriek''. Wye Oak (band)
Wye Oak is an American indie rock duo from Baltimore composed of Andy Stack (musician), Andy Stack (drums, keyboards, backup vocals) and Jenn Wasner (vocals, guitars and bass). Their sound has been described as "earnest folk-influenced indie rock with touches of noise and dream pop" as well as indie folk. Wasner sings lead vocals and plays electric or acoustic guitar, while Stack plays both drums and keyboards, playing the drums with his feet and right hand, and the bass line with his left hand. Wye Oak (band) Albums
The Wye Oak was the largest white oak tree in the United States and the State Tree of Maryland from 1941 until its demise in 2002. Wye Oak State Park preserves the site where the revered tree stood for more than 400 years in the town of Wye Mills, Talbot County, Maryland. The Wye Oak was believed to be over 460 years old at the time of its destruction during a severe thunderstorm on June 6, 2002. Hugo Nicolson is an English record producer and engineer, who has worked on records for artists including Primal Scream, Embrace, David Holmes, Shack, Julian Cope, and his sister, Claire Nicolson (musician) who also performs under the pseudonym 'Tiger Onezie'. Andy Stack (musician)
Andrew Brant "Andy" Stack is one of the founding members of the indie-rock duo Wye Oak and a solo artist under the moniker Joyero, as well as a remix artist and a composer and producer for film and commercial music. He has also performed as a member of EL VY, and Lambchop. Early life Stack was born and raised outside of Baltimore, Maryland. He studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where he originally focused on bass guitar and upright bass, and later at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Jennifer Lynn Wasner (born April 16, 1986) is an American musician from Baltimore, Maryland, Baltimore.
